I am about to build my first PC as well going with almost the exact build but I’m debating between the Ryder 5 7600x or the Ryzen 7 7700x. I’m probably going to go with the Ryzen 7 7700x. I am buying my own cooler, because I am aware the X does not come with a stock cooler. However, my question is, does the thermal paste come WITH the CPU or cooler? Or do I have to buy that separately?

so the 8 cores vs 6 cores isnt much of a difference either?
@bizbarley74
@bizbarley74 11 ай бұрын
@@joza3077 It depends on what you are using it for, so to answer more clearly, if you are trying to break into the AM5 platform solely for gaming, which is mainly the rigs I build for clients, the Ryzen 5 7600X provides plenty of power combined with the 7800 XT. For only gaming, you are not going feel any performance difference going up to the Ryzen 7, I think it's a total waste of money in this build, you could spend that extra $100 is SO MANY DIFFERENT AREAS, where you would actually see improvement in gaming. So unless you plan on going with a very high tier GPU, the 7600X is going to be fine for any current games. However, if you plan on making this a multi purpose system, where you are mixing games, and maybe your into content creation, or you work in a field using a lot of 3D graphic designing, heavy applications and such (personally I would be advising Intel at that point, but this is AMD talk), then I would recommend moving to the Ryzen 7. Because that extra processor power is going to be very noticeable at that point. And because this is a gaming build, I thought I should mention this, because you could put the extra money in much better places. So I hope that helps to answer your question with a bit more clarity. I've seen others overkilling the CPU recently on the AM5 platform, and I'm honestly not sure why. I think it's possible that some are just not aware at how efficient and well balanced this new lineup of CPUs by AMD are, I'm not totally sure. But unless you plan on purchasing one of the RX 7900 GPUs or something high end on the Nvidia side, where you could possibly run into bottlenecks, you should be good. Save the money or invest in other areas.

@@Serene-Scream Asrock B650M Pro RS Mainboard with some Thermalright fans. Their own RGB software sucks and is buggy as hell, but at least I could set a static color (all I need), since installing Signal everything is broken. Asrock's software refuses to even start, giving me a (known) error hanging endlessly at some "updating RGB firmware" screen but doing nothing. I completely uninstalled and one by one reinstalled/tried/uninstalled again both RGB softwares, reset the mainboard, reflashed the BIOS, no go - I can't even change the color in the BIOS anymore. I can't say what happened and who's at fault, all I can say is it started with installing SignalRGB. Although, at the same time a Windows update dropped which comes with it's own RGB controls apparently (which doesn't work either and shouldn't support Asrock), maybe this had something to with it too. I assume some software left remains in the system even after uninstalling, although that doesn't explain why I can't even change the RGB in the BIOS anymore.

@@chrissocloneyeah, running insider builds of Windows can certainly be problematic. I personally don’t think that SignalRGB would be the cause of the issues you’re experiencing. Regardless, I hope you get the issues you’re experiencing resolved.

@@Serene-Scream Oh, no insider builds here - but after further experiments, having it fixed once and then break again, I left SignalRGB mostly off the leash for now and think the real culprit is Asrock's own RGB software. I'm now simply setting RGB values in the BIOS and use nothing anymore. Maybe once my nerves are calm enough again I'll give OpenRGB a shot. SignalRGB, once I got it working, needs to start with Windows and stay active to function, which for me is no-go, I want to set a theme once then forget the software exists.

It's pretty easy to build a solid, good quality 1080p gaming PC on a budget. Building a solid, good quality 1440p PC takes you closer to $2000 though if you are using good quality parts.

This is damn close to the parts list that I put together for build independently. Only real difference is that I went with a higher end motherboard from Asus and 7800x3D for the CPU. But same GPU, same RAM, same size SSD, PSU. I went with the other Thermaltake CPU cooler. And I've got an older Fractal Meshify 2 case I'm reusing. Building it tomorrow!

Hi, thanks for the video, but what about 7500f? The 7500f costs around 170€, the 7600 cost 200-210€.

Paul, thank you for the build. Excellent timing, just replacing wife's and my machines. Your memory link is for a Model that does not function with the motherboard and it isn't on Gigabyte's Memory support list. Amazon is swapping, so no issues! Thanks again!

I bought a Lenovo Legion 7i back in January for $1699.99 i9 12900k RTX 3070 16gb ddr5 4800 works flawlessly now selling for $2145.85. Not often you buy a PC and a year later it's worth more than you paid for it.

Nice inadvertent fan upgrade too. Will run a lot quieter and probably last much longer than the stock ones.

Just pointing it out, but you say the SSD is PCIE 4 when the box says it's PCIE 3.0 x4.

(looks at table) I approve of this build. I did similar with same price. I ended up going AM4 because I like it, but I got a 4070 with a 5600x (now a 5600x3D, thank you Microcenter), 32GB DDR4@3600MHz, puppy SMOKES. 4070/7800XT are plenty, PLENTY of gaming juice to either reach or bust your 165Hz refresh limit. I had to do 125% render on 1440p Ultra with Diablo 4 just to dip back down to 140fps. It's plenty of juice. Paying more for a GPU makes no sense to me. You've gotta have more sense than money, don't be paying 4070Ti+ prices, that's so silly.

Okay, I'm curious why you went with this and not the Pop Air? It's been $80 USD for a while, has 3 fans, and is a bit more modern.

My opinion? Never use the stock cooler, you'll never know how hot the room will be or how dusty the PC becomes. Also if you go with the older 5800X3D, you pay the same or less and have about 20% more performance in games. Yes you can't upgrade from AM4, but first gen AM5 might not support the last CPU that comes to AM5 and RAM support is also limited. SOME people might also opt for a 4070 for better RT support and lower powerconsumption.
