Just discovered your channel. Great video! I know you mention you're frustrated with the bombadiers breaking your base, I would be too. But from a fresh viewer perspective, it added SO much excitement to the video. It was actually tense watching them beat on your door and breaking your spinning wheel multiple times was hilarious. That one shot, where it arcs a shot thru the small hole and hits you inside and your reaction, I died 😂! It was cool to see you make progress even tho it looked really tough and I'm excited to see what happens next!

5 or 6 Thrown pebblet spears should kill most mid range bugs. Throwing spears deals LOADS of damage.

you can change options in custom games like setting options like making it to where your armor doesnt need to be repaired, or even making it to where things like your base items do not take damage. so many different options when you create a custom mode game. My favorite spot still to build is the cliff just north of the mysterious machine. With the vertical cliff and the leaf it makes a natural barrier insects can't destroy . Plus it's super close to resources you need regularly and alot of.

I really wish you could do SOME terraforming around your base. My back yard is full of debris that even laying down one layer of foundation won't fix. And I REALLY can't be bothered to move it elsewhere after all the work haha

Yea honestly just for convenience sake for where you built you should turn structure damage off. Also I'm pretty sure there's an option in the custom difficulty to just disable objectives? I'll go check in a minute and check. (Also is me younglink I just changed my handle)

Would be sweet if we could disable the No Land Rights BS! I kinda get it for labs but there's tons of spots we should be able to build that just can't and it sucks. Cave base in Grounded is sick though, reminds me of making a hobbit hole type base in Valheim under/inside a big rock, seeing how you can wiggle everything you need into a predetermined tiny space is really fun!

Ok I’m not one to talk for you, considering I just found you through this, but you know this is more of an rpg right. You are surviving until about the hedge lab, when you unlock meals, and ways to store water. Think this might be better described as “I’m gonna build and nothing else.”

It becomes what you make it. We will build a bunch, but also fight a bunch of creatures and explore places we haven’t been before (quite a few). But yes you are correct, building will be a big part of this series😁

There is a open cave in the path. Might need a bit of work to seal, but got lots of room and potential for great build

Ok so looked into it, turning off quests turn on all recipies free so thats out than and after looking I dont see an option for turning off structure damage via bugs.

that´s a good question tbh, i think once we´ve build a bunch of stuff and structures with the highest tier weapons and armors it might be time to take a break from the game and then come back with season 4? At that point they should have added some updates and stuff :)

​@@TorakOfficial I'll be honest, no hate when I say this either. Your skill is MUCH better than mine, but you made a few mistakes here and there. The largest one was when you peeped the Larva and were going to fight it. You asked "what are you weak to" and checked the cards. The Larva are RESISTANT to chopping but you misread it as one of their weaknesses instead and went at it with the axe, which caused you to struggle more than you should've. My main criticism to give is to try to be more patient, instead of rushing things, take your time to make sure you're not misreading things. Now with that out of the way, I'm excited to watch the next parts of this series! I've enjoyed this video a bunch. 🫡

@@TorakOfficial What got me was building a base in the paths of two bombardier beetles. The location is cool but when you go in or out, you have a chance of aggroing them and they will ruin your base. That location will have you wasting a lot of time doing repairs and re-building your objects. For a first base, the location should be defensible and off any aggressive paths for safety. After all, you would never set up a tent on a trail frequently traveled by predators looking for food. Though a game, Grounded can teach players how to survive in the wild with a little common sense

@@randyranderson690 Well it´s not always just about being safe in my opinion. New players who build in this place will have to learn how to cope with the dangerous bugs in the area. This will get them to learn the fighting aspect of the game a lot faster and realize that a few bugs can´t stop them from building in a cool place :)
