I hope Cockwells get loads of business from this, they did an amazing job. The boat looks just awesome. I can't really explain why I got emotional at the end with the music. I guess I was more invested in seeing this little boat and the support team that help it get where it needs to go than I thought. Its such a great series, a gem on KZbin that needs far more exposure than its getting. Also its been so interesting seeing parts of the UK I just didn't know existed. Can't wait for the next part with the now swole little Goodwin back on the open sea.

Am in Kleinburg ON and it's been about 12 yrs ago now since I was in the TX Panhandle and seeing head North off the interstates esp I35 through the Twin Cities across St Croix River and into WI , that brought back some good memories of my days in all these beautiful places . That was a great trip for the Spring/ Summer 23 . It was all green hills and vallies. That camper is a great addition , small size but perfect for cozy camping and road trips . Loved the show and let's have some more . The music selection is just perfect ....

Harry, I have been boating in small boats for the best part of 50 years, my current boat is a Finnish boat, a 16 foot Terhi 475BR. It has a Honda 60 on the back and just exceeds 32 knots. Your smaller boat should do better than 26 knots. The problem is the prop. It needs a 3 bladed prop for speed, not 4. The 4 bladed prop gives acceleration, but you don't need that much torque in such a light boat. Lose the 4 bladed prop and put a 3 bladed one on instead. My boat uses a 15 inch Honda prop, but is heavier than your boat, so that pitch prop would be a good starting point for yours. Make sure max revs are as close as possible to 6000 as it will greatly improve fuel consumption and performance if the motor is not struggling.

Good tips! We are quite heavy as Goodwin has a flooding keel. So to get on the plane it requires quite a lot of grip to empty out the keel and get it moving.

Harry, that is no reason to put an inefficient prop on that cripples your top speed. You have 50hp now so that should compensate anyway, but in any case, hold it just off the plane for a few seconds to drain the water and then you are good to go as any normal light rib. That is assuming your hull has a drain system as you go on the plane. If not, you are doing well to get 26 knots!

Just a fantastic picture of the varied and spectacular coastline of this rock in the ocean we call home, amongst many other things. Always enjoy and appreciate your videos Harry. In regards to Goodwin’s disappointing top speed with the new engine, it sounds like she needs a coarser prop. Particularly as you commented she has bite on take off. The current prop is probably for a bigger heavier boat so the revs are maxing out with a light load on the prop.

I’ve been watching this journey from the start. Seeing all the improvements to the boat is awesome and kinda hilarious the overkill, and I love it. I’m looking forward to following the rest of the journey. In a weird way I’m almost disappointed the boat is better because it probably means you will complete the journey more quickly. It will definitely be a bittersweet moment when it’s all over.
