For his latest project, we challenged him to build the first ever LEGO Technic F1 car, the McLaren MCL36 2022 F1 car - here’s how he got on.

TFW Will Buxton predicted the Ferrari pitstop strategy @ 0:50. Also, Lego has moved to giving you multiple bags so each type of component is only in one bag. You can pour each bag into their own bowl and that will work - they're size-stratified too so small parts are with small parts, and large parts are with large parts. Taking a set and sorting it by color is only doing extra work to make it harder.

I remember thinking technic sets were incredibly difficult to build when I was younger. The bugatti ended up being my first technic set so I guess I wasn't wrong 😂

What he's saying around the 7:15 mark is wrong - the Lego version is not the 2022 McLaren F1 car, it's the generic 2022 show car F1 produced in McLaren livery.

I do dump the bag into a bowl so that no pieces find their way off the table top, but I just go one bag at a time in order like the instructions show. I don't pre-sort squat...

i cannot possibly say that this was the easiest technic lego that i`ve ever built, and your very lucky that you was not there to perhaps hear all the screaming, and swearing, and that before i even built anymore of it, but then it only got worse when i built the next step, but then when you finally stop saying naughty words, and your fingers have hopefully stopped bleeding by now, the end result is one of the most incredible lego models that you can perhaps ever build, and if this is the quality of lego racing cars at the moment, then i will be beyond excited to find out what they come up with next, just please can i have a little lay down first, and you sir, are a legend when you have a lego portrait of john lennon on your shelf.

@@roadrunner6224 Wheel covers, fairings, Halo, Venturi tunnels, rear wing shape, shark fin... It's as close to a 22 model as you can get with a Lego. Considering it came out almost before the actual real car also gives it bonus points for how good it looks.
