We're working to get them for sale as soon as we can. We just need to dedicate 100% of our focus to supporting our KS backers right now, but as soon as we have the capacity (which should be soon) we'll send a link out to everyone on our waitlist here: www.maslowcnc.com/waitlist

For cutting the strips for the corner and inside plates, if you can get access to a table saw you'll get straight lines and an easy job of cutting them..
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 7 ай бұрын
Yes a table saw would be ideal! We wanted to keep the required tools simple and cheap for people that may not have a well-equipped shop.

All that work just to save on the cost of buying an extra sheet of plywood? Just buy 2.5 sheets of plywood and cover the entire framed surface with plywood. it will be rock solid. Instead of using plywood as a spoil board use a sheet of foam to protect the frame.

I was thinking the same thing but it would be heavier though that's fine if you don't need to move the frame very often.

Dumb question. Does the frame shown here work well if you cut stuff on the floor with it instead of it being vertical?

Guessing if you are building a Maslow system you would have a router so cutting the first plate with a jigsaw and then use that as a template to trace around with a router with a bearing would speed up as well as make them all the same ✌️

Wouldn’t cutting the corner/inside plates be a perfect use of Maslow 4? Mount Maslow temporarily to the floor, put plywood down and start the „boot cut“ to get all parts you need for the frame.
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 7 ай бұрын
Absolutely! It all depends if you want to assemble your Maslow4 first or your frame first. We have a brief description of the floor mounting procedure here: www.maslowcnc.com/building-the-maslow-4-frame

I feel like the obvious answer for cutting the plates is to use your original maslow before you disassemble.

So how do you secure your work piece to the frame? I imagine maslow's cables might catch on most clamps. Sorry if the question seems kind of dim, I don't have much experience with CNC machines (beyond 3D printers) at this point.
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 7 ай бұрын
Not at all, that' is a great question. I usually screw the sheet of plywood that I am cutting to the spoil board. If you wanted to use clamps you could, you would just want to put them in the middle of each edge of the sheet where the belts don't go instead of in the corners. The issue with clamps is that the sled can hit them so screws are easier.

I'm not understanding the installation of the t-nuts in conjunction with a wing nut. Shouldnt the t-nut just be on the other side of the plywood brackets? If you follow the way shown in the picture, the bolt will pull out the t-nut as you tighten it.
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 7 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, We didn't really clarify that. The wing nuts are only supposed to keep the Maslow's belt ends on the bolts. You don't have to tighten them up at all.

I want the plans to build that base in the background using super-strut or uni-strut. That's the way I want to go! Where can I find those plans? and are those 3D printed brackets attached to the struts?
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 7 ай бұрын
We will work on getting some instructions together for that. The uni-strut is harder to work with, more expensive and has a weird springyness to it, but if your heart is set on that, go for it!
@S0LRAC
@S0LRAC 7 ай бұрын
@@maslowcnc Thanks!! Yea, I have tons of this at work that I could use so cost is not an issue LOL. But there are so many accessories for uni-strut that makes it super strong and clean. Cant wait to see what you provide down the road and cant wait to you open the sales up for non-kickstarter patrons. thanks again, I have been watching you guys since the Tested video where I first saw you. Keep up the great work.

@@S0LRAC Oh then heck yeah! I will post plans and files for the 3D printed parts for my version, but I would love to see what you build if you modify it. It does work well, I just didn't want to recommend it mostly because of the cost. I'll bump up posting those plans on my todo list

Can maslow go faster if it is on a horizontal frame.
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 5 ай бұрын
No, the limiting factor is the top speed of the motors so it will be the same horizontal and vertical

How much bigger than 4x8 does the frame need to be? Can the anchor points be closer in, if a smaller frame would work better in my shop?
@maslowcnc
@maslowcnc 7 ай бұрын
Yes! The frame can be any size. This frame (8'x10') is the smallest that we recommend if you want to be able to cut full sheets of plywood, but you can go smaller as long you are comfortable with the work area shrinking a little bit.
