Should have a French gutter between the tank and computer. Would not help with a catastrophic failure but would ensure a errant drop never makes it into the computer. The issue with this tank would be the temperature differentials. It will collect a lot of dust, which is something you don't want in your loop. It will clog the microfins in your CPU block. You also would have to be careful about which decorations to put inside the tank, or you'll make your coolant conductive. That's not as risky as it sounds, but still probably not a thing you want. Radiator-less cooling loops kind of work, but frankly you'd be better off getting something like a Mo-Ra 3 420. It's a humongous radiator which holds something like two litres of water, and has enough surface area to even work completely passively. My computer at full load draws about 800W, but even after several hours of crunching numbers my Mo-Ra never needs to spin the fans up above 300rpm, which is the minimum they can do. It's a very effective piece of kit.

Hey, at least you're not one of those insane KZbinrs who tries to force a betta fish into a LIGHT BULB (or slightly larger softball-sized light bulb bowl for the thumbnail)!! I get so mad scrolling thru that BS sometimes... Keep up the animal rights, Clint! 🐠💕🐟

yea it is really quite depressing that this is one of the "better" of the gimmicky fish tanks
@munktayl0rd2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. When I saw him actually, you know, RESEARCH if it was ok to just dump a poor fish into this this, I was very impressed when he decided not to. A ton of KZbinrs (or worse, TikTok "stars"...) would have thrown a betta into this without any research, made the video, then tossed out the fish or returned it to the store. A+ for LGR yet again!

I'd love to see you build a computer case out of an IKEA coffee table which you can use to display your collection of antique anvils.

As someone who both keeps aquariums and likes PCs, the thought of combining the two has never occurred to me. 😂

What a cursed build, so many mishaps. On the plus side, without the tank, the base case actually looks pretty handsome.

It doesn't even have to be an aquascape, this would be a really cool case to use for a terrarium with Isopods and what not. Not to mention probably much safer for your parts and any animals involved if any.

It’d be nice for a garden, like a PC succulent box. That way you can use the grow light, minimize water and keep something that doesn’t mind the higher temperatures

I think that this fish tank looks awesome and makes a great fish tank. Not so much a computer. I just like the computer case as a nice space too keep all the extra fish tank components. I also like the design of clear box on top of opaque box for a computer. Hide the power supply and drives, have all the rgb accessories up top. The mixing of the two seems hazardous though but this is a product purely made as a status symbol.

A splendid example of computer-related structural Chinesium. I was actually surprised that the tank didn't leak, and the 'fishtank' didn't manage to fall down onto the computer components within the testing period. "Chinesium" is a term I've encountered for China-sourced anything that is of suspect strength, durability, endurance or reliability.

I'm no aquarium expert, but 3.5 gallons seems very small for a fish tank. I worry that some people who don't know any better will try putting a bunch of fish unsuitable for that kind of environment in one of these things.

I recently looked after a cat and I had to feed the boy's fish. It was a tank smaller than this and the one fish left was about 4mm long.

What boards did they test this with? Every standard MiniITX board has the 24 pin in that same location. If I had to guess they just measured from the most right pin of the PSU to the most left pin on the mainboard, and neither added the additional length needed for the cable sticking out the top nor the longer cables needed to the outer pins.
