Just listening to the developer explaining what they discovered I knew right away I had to get this game. He described everything that has ever turned me off about FPV sims, but could not articulate. Amazing work guys, can't wait to try it.

I just reinstalled it to try the new physics and the difference is mind boggling! NOW it feels like a real drone, this is literally a game changer! I just need a 3.5" freestyler and a 2.5" cinewhoop models inside the simulator to properly train, thanks a lot to the developers!

If they add this I'd get it right away. VDrone has terrible 3.5" physics that feel extremely under-powered. This looks brilliant. Do you know if they allow for custom quads like putting in your own motor/prop physics data?

I've been a Liftoff fan since I started in FPV nearly 2 years now. Interestingly, I picked up TRYP just 2 days ago and noticed a huge difference in performance between the two FPV simulators. Liftoff was instrumental in helping me build up my reflexes. I've given alomost 10 hours (already) to TRYP and the physics alone has already helped me zero in on some bad habits, iron out a few stick inputs I've been sloppy with (because Liftoff is so forgiving). Of course, the visual treat in TRYP is appreciated. I will be spending a lot more time in this new sim. Chris, thanks for your contribution to this FPV hobby. Your attention to detail and how you break down technical material is so much appreaciated. Keep up the great work and nice job in this interview with Armand. I can see he also is excited about his work. Good job you two.

I tried this when I first heard about it a while back, but my ancient laptop couldn't cope. It seems like an awesome project though. It was supposed to have chasing sims and even skydiver chase, but like I said, I couldn't get it to work on my old laptop. I'm hoping to update that this year! Thanks for all your work in the hobby Chris! Love your tuning videos! I'm still trying to develop that skill as well, lol!

Great interview. This simulator is the best one I've flown in. It combines the best features of other simulators - the ability to create your own drones like in Liftoff, the option to play with PID settings, excellent graphics, presets for rates and PIDs. Additionally, it has its own unique advantages - visualization of PID curves, filter adjustments, the ability to adjust drone mass, physics tuning, and real current drones on the market. Please do not delete anything that is mentioned. Filters, PID curves, Betaflight settings - these are what make this simulator unique and truly interesting. Personally, I cannot consider a simulator a game if it doesn't allow for flexible drone customization because that's also part of the hobby. Sometimes, I find joy in spending hours tweaking PID settings and trying out different drones and configurations. Unfortunately, the flight recording feature isn't working yet, but I believe it's temporary. I'm eagerly awaiting new maps and features. Thanks to the developers for the best simulator, and to the video author for this interview.

This must be what LuGus got wrong in their flawed physics model. I mean, I guess everyone else got it wrong in their physics model, but instead of accept that their physics model is flawed, LuGus spends a ton of time defending it and telling everybody it's perfect and it's user error. I like the way Armand accepts the problems and tackles the challenge. This is pretty cool stuff. They cracked the code it seems.

Filters are going to be necessary for a realistic sim because they introduce phase shift and delay and the simulation will not be realistic without that. If a quad in the game is to feel like a quad in the real world, I think this part of the dynamics will need to be included.

@wavesummit10 ай бұрын
Wonder if you could in theory have tryp fpv read in a black box log, and playback the flight, would be kinda neat, obviously wouldn't work well with a world of obstacles.
@mjodr9 ай бұрын
In theory that would definitely be possible. This all reminds me of when I was experimenting with betaflight as "SITL" (software in the loop). I was essentially running a virtual flight controller. They just made it super integrated, streamlined and correct with great graphics. My previous tries of doing that were not smooth.

Not really. Velocidrone doesn't fly like a real quad at all. The PID controls don't feel like they do much (and I am very experienced with black box, so I know what I am looking for). You don't get bobbles on punch out in velocidrone. You do in tryp. It's really not the same thing. Having a set of controls that look like the Beta flight PID page and literally using the beta flight PID loop are two different things.

Tryp feels extremely unrealistic. There’s no feeling of momentum. Uncrashed and other sims are miles ahead simply because the quad doesn’t feel like it’s on rails 24/7. Tried it, could not start a single race. No matter what I did with my radio, would get red "DISQUALIFIED" flashing in the middle of the screen. Why on earth would someone make starting a race so impossibly difficult. Takes forever to load, you have to stare at "Charging Lipos" screen for minutes, and I have decent video card. Had to return the game, bloated and non functional product. I think if they charge for the product it has to be polished and optimized, otherwise make it free of charge for testing and debugging purposes.
