Just a suggestion what I kind of miss is what to do for a test flight... to get the gyro data. And maybe do this in the future with one of your friends/ patreons to start of with a less of a good build/quad. and take it step by step how to tune it to fly really good. For example for myself I run into this problem trying to tune a 2.5 inch qav frame wich is a whoop and needs to run in pretty warm weather.. can't use the hot motors. I do as allways enjoy the content and the way you explain it.

@guitaroАй бұрын
@@michaelo9071 I have heard you want to takeoff and do 3 throttle ramps. Hover close to the ground and then gradually and smoothly increase the throttle up to 100% over the course of 5-10 seconds. Repeat this 2 more times and then land and disarm. I think you can remove the takeoff and landing from your data in Blackbox Configurator by pressing "I" and "O" respectively.

It appears that everyone comes from this subject with a different perspective and this video seems to explain it such a way where I can filter my quad knowing if I see an issue, I have the knowledge to make the proper adjustment.

Great video! However don't you think it is best to tune the PIDs before tuning the filters? The reason being is that if your PIDs have a bad tune then you're going to get majorly bad motor/frame osolations anyway. I think it makes more sense to tune the PIDs using the PIDtoolbox then coming into BF and tuning the filters to finely tune the kwad?
@divingfalconfpv46025 ай бұрын
Dont think i have any frame resonances. I dont remember seeing any vertical. I lowered min closer to min motor noise. 10" quad so seems to be like 75 to 80hz noise starts. But all look like motor noise not vertical. So i should just raise dynamic notch back up to save delay. Maybe remove a low pass filter for less delay.
@maryjane1366 ай бұрын
Brilliant video, thank you. Why did not someone implement a function to read recorded raw gyro data from a UART to feed the PID loop and do a recording into the internal memory as usual? So I would be able to test filter settings on the bench.

@@cinemoriahFPV Oh, okay. Can you tell how? Or give an advice which commands to use?
@maryjane1366 ай бұрын
@@cinemoriahFPV I hope you understand this in the right way. You download the btfl_001.bbl and use the data in this file as a source for the simulation. Typically you do not have enough space in the internal flash memory for Blackbox log, so do you have to go the way with the file. The file contents will be feed the FC or a simulator with the same filter calculations. The output will be recorded as usual in the flash memory. Then you can analyze the new btfl_001.bbl like always. Instead of flying and gather the sensor data the data from the file are the source. And this could be done with CLI commands? No way.

Hi Chris. You don't talk about props (or I didn't get that part). What happens if I loose a blade after a crash and try to bring back the quad flying to my position? Are some pretty tight filters more prone to create issues with props damage than others? Can I push some filters to the limit without be worried of burn a motor if I fly with smashed props? As usual your videos are very helpful. Thanks.

Very interesting thank you 🙏 but something that I ask myself every time and which we don't hear much about is at what level of brightness / zoom the noise must absolutely be filtered because it would cause problems, white? because on some of my drones there remains light red everywhere after filtering but it flies well

Could you say something about tuning a race quad? i feel like alot of this tight tuning would not apply there because racequad often get very "unclean" from extremely bent props and maybe even parts coming loose. Most pilots will just keep pushing through the round and hope their motors wont burn. I guess the trick here is to tune while having some bent props on?

Hey, thanks for the video! One question: what if I crashed into a tree or something, and some drone parts started negligibly "wobbling" and causing some noise? Or a prop breaks? Wouldn't I smoke my motors then with many of the default BF filtering settings turned off (according to your video)? Perhaps it is safer to leave some of them on just in case a sudden imbalance occurs?
@SleeperknotАй бұрын
Hey Chris, thanks for this super informative Video! Motivated by this video of yours, I just went ahead and installed Blackbox explorer and loaded the very first log I collected at half the loop frequency (4KHz). It shows Actual & Config Data log difference as 165:4000. Does this mean that my FC (SpeedyBee F405 V4) is only able to log at a rate of 165 Hz? I can't see anything beyond 82.5 Hz on the X Axis (Nyquist criteria, I guess - 165 Hz) even when I am fully zoomed out. In your video I can see frequencies up to 500Hz. How is that made possible? Appreciate your inputs!
