Do you think 500 would work well for bando also? Inside concrete buildings, where signal must penetrate walls? I use LoRa 250hz, but im wondering about changing to 500 to get less latency, as id like to go fast in urban bando

on higher continuous power delivery, the stator metal will expand (every metal expands on heating), so this ultra thin space might be the biggest failure of this motor !

Put a 2 mil nylon nut between esc & fc.thats how I do it. My builds always fly better than factory builds..

I have an aos 5 drone and applied the corresponding tune in beta flight, when i cut my throttle fully i lose the ability to control my drone momentarily. I'm just wondering why this happens or what to do about it. I'm new to the hobby so please be patient!

Hi, I am curious to understand tuning for example the Q-value of the RPM filters. In theory, I should be able to change the Q-value somewhat in BF Blackbox Explorer and re-visualise an updated "filtered GYRO", which is not logged but I think it should be possible to visualise how the filtered gyro would have looked like, if I had the updated parameter? Is this possible? I hope my question is clear.

First thank you for this great in depth analysis overall it is extremely interesting. however to resume your tests you (normalized each performances value you measured that is good but then you summed the score and divided by the weight -> that is the problematic part perfo parameters usually dose not have a linear effect and can not be just summed (this is called scorecard or balance score card and it has lead many people to wrong decision) up as for exemple responsiveness might not be that important for one and crucial for another person. so picking the highest score motor dose not guaranty picking the best motor for your application the preferred way is to combine as much as possible the parameters that make sense physically like power or thrust to weight and do Pareto chart with the reminding parameters.

This is pretty silly. Aluminium can not contain an electro magnetic field of any description , the reason the screw dose not stick is the motor case is thicker meaning the screw is further away from the magnet nothing more. If you have ever played with a magnet the size seen in these small motors and a screw you will know there is no attraction between the 2 until they are very close, that's all that's happening here, same effect can been on any uni bell motor. Unless you have redesigned the stator and magnet mould tooling which is where the real gains are then these motors are not designed in the UK , you have done what countless other people have done and just called up RCIP and have them add your colour , bell design ques and KV requirement to a pre existing motor design. Until consumers are ready to pay for actual high end development and material costs this silliness will be the only improvements we see . HYPE.

For pusher wing usage, with a bell face that wide and flat, you will probably need/want a spacer to keep the blades from contacting the bell.

Regarding your statement about efficiency vs weight, I disagree. As it comes to endurance multi-rotors, every single gram matters. A plus in weight of lets say 15g per motor is leading to a 60g over all weight penalty which is a huge deal. Even a significantly better motor efficiency cannot compensate for the added weight. Nevertheless, the motor that you are presenting is an awesome piece of technology and might be a sweat spot for many use cases where people do not want to trade too much performance for flight time.

An idea to even squeeze more windings into the same volume: in the gaps between wires place smaller wires. Or even use squared wires.

Man if you bring out a fitting rc plane motor you will really bang up the hobby for model airplane guys . We are used to motors that cost 10 times the amount and arent nearly as power dense . I've did a 6s mini hotliner with a t motor 2808 1950kv on 7x4 and the kick on full throttle was lut of this world. Burned the esc out. Measured current with a new one was 135 amps at 21.5 volts . 😂 Motor came down cold . And i know you can do better then t motor

I’m not satisfied with my GT Kit, which I’m flying on your AOS 7 frame. Over a 3km stretch, I’m experiencing many dropouts and interruptions. I’ve flown the same routes with the O3, and it delivers far better quality and range with my setup. I still need to figure out what’s going wrong with the GT Kit.

i know 77 and 80 are 3% away from eachother, but 80 is almost 4% increase from 77, and 83 is almost 8% increase from 77, so the efficency numbers are even more impressive than they were presented
