Since I moved around a lot and lived in apartments, I didn't have a place to build a layout until 2013 in the townhouse basement. I am not super skilled but I could do basic carpentry. I was able to build basic open grid type benchwork to fit the dimensions of the area. For my current layout, I used 11x17" graph paper I bought at an office supply store and drew in the boundaries of the room to scale and then figured out what would fit in the area and drew a track plan. With the track plan in place, I simploy based the open grid benchwork modules that would overlay the track plan and accounting for aisles. I used good old #8 and #6 drywall screws to hold it all together. ONe thing that came in real handy were a bunch of C clamps to hold things together while drilling pilot holes and driving screws in.

Question.Not on this episode.Trying to decide which command station digitrax.The only difference on top model .it has feed back.What is the feedback.
@TheDCCGuy7 күн бұрын
I think you may be referring to the ability to read back the CV settings changes made in Ops Mode programming. However you must be using a Digitrax transponding capable decoder with transponding turned on in the command station. As I read it the DCS210+ also has this ability. They may also be referring to transponding but that has been around for almost 20 years in their systems so I am not really sure what you mean. You need to download the instruction manual and read it before making a decision.

Ah? Maybe I missed something. Material list is not here. So where do I find that? Just in time too. I am moving and this will help me make a new layout bench. If I want to make it more permanent. Like attaching it to a wall in the garage, how would I do that? I would put a 2 x 4 or a one by four on the wall and attach it to studs in the garage then put the plywood over that after I have attached legs and screw everything down. Or is there a better idea? Thanks, love watching your videos. Love the tools too, that you used
