The detail on the latest Tamiya model in whatever scale are extremely well done. They do their research from remaining full sized tanks,trucks, cars, aircraft & half tracks. Also from available engineering drawings. RESEARCH THAT'S WHAT IT ALL ABOUT. GOOD JOB,ANDY

Great to see a new 1/48-scale kit! By the looks of it, typical Tamiya quality - easy assembly, very good detail and nice to have the option of building the Crocodile or standard Mark Vll variant (and annoying pin marks, grrrrrr). Really nice looking kit and good to have something a bit different. Tons of potential there, too. Another excellent video, Andy!

I have a Takom Maus V2 sitting at home for one of my future builds, just waiting to finish college first. I saw a complete build on display in a model shop in Stockholm, Sweden during a vacation with my fiance and I was amazed by the pure scale of it so I had to have one. Getting to the point, I can understand why Tamiya did not include the rest of the track links for the Churchill, out of sight, out of mind! But for my own sense of completion I will be building the track for my Maus in its entirety and I like to have the option to do so but if Takom hadn't included the parts of the track that won't be visible on the Maus it wouldn't bother me and I would understand completely :) Great video, lovely build as usual, keep 'em coming!

Hey Andy is this a true new kit from Tamiya? When i was 15 back in the late 1970's. I built this kit and in fact its still in the diorama. Maybe mine is in 32 scale i also made the German half track with the 4 gun anti aircraft set up with crew. As partof the same display. Situation of diorama crocodile is about to flame out german pillar box but on one side rear not seen by Tommies. The 4 barrels of the half track is about to blow the trailor Still makes me laugh. LOL

Thanks for sharing Andy. As a beginner, I do find that you skip quite a bit. This video is a perfect example. Such as "When it dries a little it will change", but we don't see that. We just ended up with a pretty much finished model. I get you need to keep the videos short, but it would be good if you were able to have the an unedited version. We can easily skip around, and it would really help us beginners I think. By the way, you need to move to the UK so I can visit your shop :)

You just need to have a look at some of his earlier builds which give a more in-depth demonstration of how he does it. He doesn't need to repeat these time and time again.

There's is a wealth of information online about kit building of all types, from plastic cars to resin monsters and all points in between. If there's a particular aspect to building that you're unclear on, you'll eventually find the info. You just have to keep digging. And don't stick to researching just one genre. My main passion is movie monsters and custom bases for them as well as sci fi vehicles, but I watch the military kit builders and even the train set enthusiasts because I learn something from every single video. Trust me... before you know it you'll have a head full of tips and tricks.
@davewatkinson44846 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice. The problem I find is that there is too much out there, not so much conflicting, but different techniques. This is good when you are skilled but just starting out, I'm really looking for one persons techniques that works as a starter. Andy seems ideal.
@davewatkinson44846 жыл бұрын
Indeed, it's must a matter of finding which one. Spoilt for choice I guess but life is too short sometimes. Maybe I need to do a marathon of watching. I wonder if videos can be hash tagged with the elements they demonstrate in detail. Oh and no one asked him to repeat, just put out the un-edited version for those that might be interested.
