Building the NFFF 2 1/2" High Rise Hose Pack

This video will demonstrate the proper method to build a 2 1/2" High Rise Hose Pack using light weight hose. This hose pack is the preferred method for use during the NFFF 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. You will need 4 sections of 2 1/2" hose, 50' each. Other items needed are a
2 1/2" nozzle, a 2 1/2" to 1 3/4" gated wye, and several small hose straps (we use 3 on each hose) to secure the bundles.

We have purchased an oil field type velcro strap that fits the hose bundles then added a 6 to 7' tail to each strap for easy removal with fire gloves on. Straps were around $4 each, 6 to 7" piece of webbing cost is minimal and sewing costs were around 4 $ per strap. Far cheaper that any commercial fire fighter strap we could find. Good Luck. Hi, dont know if you fire fighters know but if you listen to clasical music on your way to a fire or anything else the vibrations from the music brings balance to a group effeciently helping team work and calmness. Depending on the crew's ability to work as one is crucial obviously so every little thing counts to bring brothers and sisters home as well as save lives. Thanks for all you people do for us.

My department doesn't do much high rise work. What would be the advantage of the wye, especially without any 1 3/4" (or 1 1/2") hose/nozzles?

Jacob Atcher it can allow you to attach adapters or to run a longer line and split it for attacking a larger area when on scene of a brush fire.

My dept uses 13/4 bundle as if we need to go pass 200ft we run 21/2 or 3" with gate wye and put the 100' bundle and use it

I have searched high low for quality velcro straps with pull tabs as shown in this video. Anyone know where I can find them. I intend to introduce this hose pack to my department and would prefer to have the velcro straps shown.
