Here's my theory regarding the Japan squad for the upcoming U-20 WC: Instead of having 23 players I'm guessing there will be 26 players instead for the national teams that will play in the U-20 WC. This mirrors the 26 men squad in the Euro 2020 and WC 2022 in real life. This is basically what I believe one of the few things Buratsuta proposed to the PIFA president in their meeting. With this Sae can join the squad without sacrificing anyone who makes the top 23 spots in the NEL, as it would be unfair narratively. Aside from Sae, the other 2 additional players will be Jin Kiyora and Gen Fukaku or Gurimu Igarashi as they most likely won't make the top 23 spots in the NEL but Ego likes them enough to give them the call up to make up the final 26 men squad. @@spursfan0752 The only problem I have with this formation are the forwards. Isagi was a wing is not really a good position for him especially for how the story seems to be panning out. Shidou as the main striker doesn't make since either because we've already established he's a joker card. I'd say Barou would be aright wing, Rin as the right wing, and Isagi as the primary striker. Maybe that makes since idk.

Honestly I really like this lineup but personally I'd make one change which would be the front 3 formation. Instead of wingers i was thinking that they could go with two ST/CF and one SS/CAM. The two ST/CF would be a little bit more spaced from each other than your usual 2 cf formation but not enough to be wingers while the SS/CAM would be in the middle but behind the two ST/CF in formation, creating a triangle. And using your lineup, obviously Isagi will be the SS/CAM with Nagi being his substitute. The formation would basically be a 4 - 3 - 1 - 2.

love the vid and ur analysis. i would argue your placement of Otoya as LB or RB over Hiori, since it feels like overall Hiori is a top 5 player and would be a waste to not have him in the starting lineup. Also, it feels like Sendou would move on because he scored a goal and players like Hiori before who cooked the enemy team and assisted in a super goal got 20 million with Sendou being 37 million. It is strange because whoever gets top bid supposedly is guaranteed spot as striker ruining this formation since Rin and Isagi are both in competition.

Nanase has been Rin's passing option and doesn't even considers Tokimitsu's existence on offense, and Nanase stating he's a post player is hinting that he might have similar physical specs to that of Raichi and Tokimitsu. So yeah, sub in Raichi and put Sendou on the bench while having Tokimitsu "Locked Off"
