Have you ever considered doing any of the warbirds from the World War II era? If you have , the three top favorites in most peoples list is the F4-U1D Corsair, the P51 B-D, any version of the British Spitfire, in the final two are usually the Republic thunderbolt (Razorback or bubble canopy) and of course, one of the fastest twin propeller driven aircraft, the P 38 lightning… It is obvious you have this skill set and CAD abilities to re-create an incredible replica of the World War II war birds!

MOST people who fly now are doing it with "ARF's" (haha)... Money in the game, but no skin.. Ala.. NO real time planning, prepping, building, testing beta level greats.. People either know or they don't.. NOT saying building a balsa plane from a long time ago is anything close to what you've been doing.. Just.. The "kid in me" (I'm 52' now) watches your maidens and I still can't help me get that feeling, even though I don't have anything invested... Really amazed at what you've created!!!

If you would lay the fuse carbon fibre at +/-45 degress instead of 0/90 you would significantly increase the torsional strength of it. Same for the wings and stabs.
@FlyShamu4 ай бұрын
Well, maybe. 🤔 0/90 lets him use one piece; Solid, strong, & quicker than your suggestion. Plus he has proven the strength of his work countless times. 👌

@@FlyShamu half of this carbon fibre flies for free then :) at 45 degrees you gain a lot of torsional stiffness and the longitudinal bending should also improve by around 70% without adding any mass. Basics of composite structure design.
