Great job! Glad to see one made without welding. It looks and sounds excellent. I’m going to make one for myself.

i think if you messed around with the size of the hole in the bottom you could change the tone and potentially make it a little deeper / bassy sounding

Cooles Projekt!

The idea and execution is super. I am just wondering why, with all the space available on the "bowl" did you not make more tongues and resulting from that a wider range of music notes on the bowl. Ok, I am guessing here, but it does seem possible that you could fit in a few smaller tongues by placing these ones a bit closer together. The reason I am asking is that I saw some 12 inch drums with 15 notes on them, and this thing is larger than 12 inch diameter. Just asking, because it appears to be possible.

beautiful tutorial! I found the same dishes and I'd like to try to replicate the experiment..I wanted to know where you found the models for the tongues? I'd like to try to create a D Minor Celtic D scale tank drum, are there models to print? thanks a lot!!!

Ah OK, thank you for the translation. I bought it at Ikea but it is not available there anymore. But you just have to look for decoration bowl, there is a huge selection :)

Hello mate. Brilliant tutorial. Thinking of trying this myself, but I can't find this exact bowl. Could you provide a link?
@hendrikruegen12794 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) Sadly the bowl is out of stock @ Ikea. You can try similar locking bowls, they are often offered as decoration bowls but the material shouldn't be too thin!

How much did the bowls cost? What kind of glue was that? Why those keys, D# minor?
@hendrikruegen12794 жыл бұрын
Each bowl was 12,99€, the glue is shown in the video, its UHU Epoxy with/for metal.

cool idea! Unfortunately I cant find such big diameter in Ikea in Russia. You should try making less ammount of notes, for example 10 without centre note, or 11 with. You made to many notes and they conflict with each other. Also try to burn the tongues after you cut the tongues, but dont forget to leave some space to fine tune them after burning. I'm sure this might help

About 2 working days. Plus the waiting time for the glue ... it needs 10 hours to dry.

Nachklingenden Ton.
