I think what impresses me more than the machine you are building is all the careful tool making you do in the background. My grandfather was a tool maker for BAC in the 1960s and used to make all sorts of clever tools for specific jobs. A well earned subscribe.

* the model industry. Not skynet or Boston dynamics. We don't need to give them a head start. They've already put guns on robots and tested them in war and they already are stupendously capable

As I have advised all my RC friends (who ignored me), you can mount the servos away from the eye mechanism and connect them with push-pull piano wire inside bicycle cable sheathing. Just in case you'd prefer to use larger, more powerful metal-geared servos that won't fit ON the eye mechanism.

Man.... Your killing it.... If could offer a tip at all, a oscillating cutter would help for the fine line stuff.... Great work Mate... Great work...
@AndysMachines
@AndysMachines 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I might have to try an oscillating cutter, never used one before, the die grinder can be a bit clumsy for fine work. My approach has been to try and make all the join lines actual joins, but it's not always possible.

@@AndysMachines Yep... They are one of those sort of tools that you don't realise how handy they till you own one... I did make up a lot of mini chisels out of old Allen keys as well great for the hard to get to spots, there also really good for cutting tight corners

bro what are you using to grind the eye sockets? what kind and size bits?
@AndysMachines
@AndysMachines 6 ай бұрын
That's a carbide burr in a die grinder. They usually come in a pack of different shapes, I find the ball nosed one works well, there's also a pointed one for tight spaces.

I feel pretty dumb just about now... Lol. The eyes use similar systems and operations as the steering mechanisms in a vehicle for turning.

Check out ep. 12 where I refine the eyes. There's going to be a camera, but not actually inside the eyeball as there's no space left!
