Hey... Jess here, met Jason and Lisa at the Redmond overland show and entered into a financial contract with Lisa. As a rule Brits have very little humor... and what little they do have is dry, but I enjoyed speaking with them both. Lisa is so personable and bubbly and Jason is the kind of man you would want if you're in a bind... a man's man. (thank god I never heard him say "whoops daisy", that would never do) Be careful you two and don't scratch the bike! If you get out to the coast of Oregon look me up, we'll get fish and chips!!!

Hey Jess, thank ye very much for those warm words. I’m liking your take on us Brits! Here’s to meeting again next month, and sealing the deal! Celebrating with fish n chips may be order. Take care, and we’ll stay in touch. Cheers for now, Lisa

Four Wheeled Nomad, I didn't realise that you had changed the wheels on these KTMs when I mentioned "Outex-tape" converting them in an earlier post on one of your videos. For the benefit of others watching and considering using these same bikes, if you are going to get cush-drive wheels anyway then buy the Bartubless versions from Italy which use the super strong Excell rims but are 100 per cent tubeless due to their patented inner gasket in the drop centre. Saves so much hassle fixing punctures. I just hate having to take a wheel off when instead you can fix it on the rim in seconds with a plug. Probably saved my life once on the TAT when some curious little black bear cubs came out of the woods to inspect my puncture repair efforts in deep forest. If I hadn't converted to tubeless mummy bear would have killed me for sure by the time I had replaced a rear wheel instead of simply half inflating it and getting out of there at warp speed with my helmet looped on one arm and holding my electric pump by its inflation tube in my teeth!

Great to see the two you working on your 500 setup. I've setup mine very similar. Just a suggestion, 'crack' the rear wheel nut before putting the bike on the trail stand. Can't wait to see your adventure!!

A great pair of bikes for your adventures. I have a 450 with the Nomad tower kit. Just make sure you have used a lot of loctite for the vibrations off road. I made plug and play wiring extenders for the voltage reg , start button, front brake light switch parts available from KTM or other sources. I also fitted Rhino Clutch cover and run 1.5ltr of oil. Oil changes anything from every 600 miles up to 1900 miles. My Morocco trip was 1900 miles without an oil change no problem a mix of highway 60-65mph, gravel mountain roads and some sand but ideally I like to do it sooner. My gearing was 14-48. Great video I will be following. 👍

Nice video, I am amazed that you 2 share the same hobby and enthusiasm. My wife is the home body type. Her days are filled with oil painting and playing with her 2 Yorkies. I ride with my brother in law on mountain roads, deserts and back hills. It's fun and relaxing. I'm glad to see that you 2 can share the adventure. I also ride the KTM 500 exc. Very good reliable bikes.

I feel the luckiest gal alive that Jase and I both adore adventure riding, I only learned to motorcycle by accident! (Won a two-hour taster session on a 50cc automatic.) This bike in particular is really elevating my off-road ability. It’s a phenomenal machine, thanks to Jase adventurizing it, Taco Mike setting it up, and Ryan rebuilding the suspension. www.fourwheelednomad.com/our-complete-parts-list-adventurizing-the-2023-ktm-500-exc-fs/

Curious what your oil change plan is? KTM recommended interval is about 500 miles isn’t it?
@fourwheelednomad
@fourwheelednomad 6 ай бұрын
I believe every 600 miles requires an oil change when you’re racing. As we won’t be tazzing it in race mode, our service intervals will be every 1,500 and 2,000 miles. Cheers Lisa
