#PodSquad #VODSquad Y'all had me cracking up watching y'all talk about Halloween's coming, toilet talk, and creating the perfect fighting game. Definitely helps while dealing with another day of cloudy skies and doing chores. I do agree with Rosie about the toilet lid & seat bit. When it's just you, you're comfortable in your settings. When you either have guests over or, you're a guest at someone else's place, putting the lid down does feel more good manners unless the host says otherwise. (And yeah, flushing with the lid down has been scientifically proven to be more healthy. I flush lid down unless it's a public toilet 'cause those aren't always uniform wherever you go.) As far as the perfect fighting game y'all built, I have a DLC idea, maybe a part II: "A guest visits the family well after the toilet war is over. The guest uses up the toilet roll and restocks it..., with the paper behind the roll. A new fight breaks out. Who will win? Which way is, The Way of The Paper?" Not only can you fight with the same characters from the first one, but also unlock beloved special characters voiced by stars we've lost - Arlene Sorkin, David McCallum, Lance Reddick, and Sir Michael Gambon (to name a few). Here's the flaw in Ash's argument: dudes have to check the seat every time no matter what, why should women not have to? "I fell in because it was dark" is a skill issue, you'll never hear someone who leaves the seat up by default say that.

Just some thoughts on the toilet discussion: if everybody leaves the seat down every time then 100% of the seat-moving work is on people who stand up to use. If you just leave the seat as is after use the seat-moving work is more equal (and maps onto the vegan catering analogy better, sorry Ash) #PodSquad

Ash is correct for the toilet seat discussion. Even if you are a "stand-up-user" as they've called it, you should for sure use the toilet sitting down even for 'number 1'. Otherwise the invisible pee spray is gonna go everywhere and leave a mess. Always sit down to pee. I understand if you pee standing in a public toilet, but in your own four walls everyone should sit down to reduce nastiness. Plus, close the lid while flushing, as Ash said, again, to reduce spray.

Your cleanliness logic is sound, and one of the catches of peeing with a trouser snake is that sometimes the plumbing can get a bit erratic, even with the best of intentions, and yet... these are the risks men take for the sake of that glorious, arcing stream of a fountain, and to lose that purely for hygiene concerns would just make life that little bit duller; though always clean up after yourself, that's the number one bathroom etiquette rule!

#podsquad I'm so incredibly excited for FF7 Rebirth but in a totally different way to Remake! I was hugely excited for Remake which turned out to be the first Final Fantasy game I played to completion. I loved it so much that I had to go back and play through the original for the first time. So when the latest trailer for Rebirth dropped I understood all of the references and locations it showed whereas before Remake I only really knew who Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith and Sephiroth were. The new trailer got me so hyped i instantly bought the £300+ collector's edition pre order. That Sephiroth statue looks so good! Anyway just had to share my excitement with you all. Now all I'm waiting for is the reveal of my video game boyfriend... Cid 😍

#podsquad Just wanted to let you guys know, I often listen to your podcast in the gym, and let me tell you, the amount of funny looks I get from fellow exercise freaks with all my grinning and stifled laughter at some of the things you guys come out with would be enough to fill a book, if looks could fill a book that is: a lookbook... Anyway, this week it was the brilliant image of the Greek pantheon getting into a massive scrap armed with bicycle pumps over whether the toilet seat should be left up or down! The debate between Ash and Dave on this most important of subjects was a fierce one, with fair points made on both sides, but in the end the winner was clear - Dave! That's right, we live in a democracy, and democracy demands that everyone is equal, including in the bathroom, and it should not be on the onus of one party (those that sometimes need the toilet seat up) to have to accommodate the needs of the other party (those that always need the toilet seat down) in every instance they use the toilet. Instead - just as Dave rightly described it - the seat can be adjusted depending on the needs of the toileter in any given instance of toileting, which is the fairer, more equal outcome for all, as the labour required to lift the toilet seat up or down is spread more evenly amongst the toileters. Therefore, let it be enshrined in the 'Loo Constitution' for all time so we can end this debate for good!

I’m with Ash that the LID should always be closed after doing whatever business, that’s just hygienic. Therefore the seat debate is made irrelevant. However, if I went to a BBQ and they were only doing vegan food because of one person I would be swiftly outta there, meat eaters are allowed to eat meat, the vegan can have a portion of the BBQ to cook their food and the meat can go on the other side. THEN everybody wins

Dave has reminded me that I really need to finish the Disney trilogy of Star Wars films by spoiling Rey's parentage for me. Yes, I managed to go this long without knowing the truth. I'm not that mad about it though, Disney has basically ruined Star Wars by diluting it, turning it into an MCU situation. The quality has gone very downhill in my opinion. I'd much rather see stuff from the High Republic, Old Republic brought to the screen, but for them to actually put in the time and not churn things out. Back when the galaxy was full of Jedi, Sith and Dark Jedi alike.

If it where just about comfort or personal use I'd somewhat agree, but it has been proven it's actualy healthier for you and everyone around you to close the lid before flushing. So it's not so much about the seat being up or down as it is about the lid being down before you flush. It's there for a reason. Anyone with any sense of hygiene, empathy and or curtesy would therefore use it. If you want to make some sort of statement afterwards for whatever reason put the seat back up. I'll be annoyed but I wont start a fight over it. If I find out you flush with lid open in my house though, we'll fight. You'll lose bathroom acces to my bathroom. I have only 1 toilet in my home. So I cant send guests elsewhere. My toilet is in my bathroom, where my towels, brush and toothbrush are. I dont think it's to much to ask of people to not spread their pee and poo all over it when they visit me, regardles if the prefer sitting or standing while doing their buisness.

The Romans just stole all of the Greek gods and changed their names. Dave was talking about Mars, well that's just what the Romans call Ares. The Greeks have Zeus, the Romans call him Jupiter. It even trickles down to the demi-gods for example Heracles/Herakles for the Greeks and Hercules for the Romans, and when it came time to westernise/modernise, rather than using the original Greek names they decided to use the Roman versions. There are even some tv shows etc portraying Greece but then making the mistake of using Hercules and Zeus which is a mix of both.
