Jonny knows that "quickest" and "fastest" have different meanings. I like Jonny.
@Imthefake3 жыл бұрын
what's the difference? (not native english speaker here)
@mrclown74693 жыл бұрын
@@Imthefake Quickest = least time / best acceleration Fastest = highest top speed If a car has great acceleration, it's quick. If it has a high top speed it's fast. To be honest though, most native English speakers treat both words as interchangeable, so it's usually seen as pedantic to point out the difference between the two. In drag racing though, they do have different specific meanings that actually matter. In drag racing, quick = seconds, and fast = mph. So if you do a pass that's "9.86 seconds @ 121 mph", and someone else does a "10.12 @ 128 mph" pass, then your car is quicker, but their car is faster. You might even hear someone mention a car being "the quickest and the fastest", which means it has both the lowest time and the highest speed.
@pbyfr3 жыл бұрын
I don't know what is the most amazing with this car: that you modified it very well to go so fast, or that it was so advanced when it came out in early 70s.

This episode got me a bit emotional. Back when I first got interested in EVs I stumbled across a video of this car. I knew of the model S but this very car opened my eyes to the possibilities of the EV powertrain. I figured that if a bloke with limited resources could turn a micro car into a track weapon, there was no reason why a big manufacturer with deep pockets could make a compelling EV. For me personally, this car is genesis. I’m now subscribed to anything Jonny produces, KZbin, podcasting, the lot. Thanks for the episode Jonny.

I was lucky enough to have worked on a couple of these when they were trialled by the State Electricity Commission in Victoria, Australia back in the late 70s. It was an eerie feeling driving silently down the road with only the sound of clacking solenoids to disturb the peace. They werent fast, but they accelerated ok. As i recall, they had a whole bunch of series connected golf cart batteries that didnt give a big range and didnt last long either. I thought they were marvellous and really sparked my interest in electric cars. Back then i was an ekectric forklift technician, so it wasnt much of a sidestep!
