It's an absolute dream of mine to be fortunate enough to attend this program, I have zero knowledge except what I've watched and learned on social media, I live in a very populated area in New York, the biggest diameter tree is 10 inches, but I still ordered a few pieces of equipment from the Northmen and a few other companies in the U.S, idk it doesn't matter if I use them, I hang them up in my shed and takecare of them like there my prized possessions, well they are, haha, it's just ingrained in my brain to want to work with my hands handcrafting beautiful art from such a incredible living thing, trees/ wood. My wife thinks I'm out of my mind. I can name different species of trees from the leaves and bark. Northmen is like a fair tail story I'd read about sitting by the fire. Sorry, too much info. Anyway, that's my 2 cents, times running out, I'm 60 with a 20 year old mind, it's a battle every day, lol. Thanks again, as always, for inspiring myself to dream big. ❤ Be well all.

I've always wondered, what happens to these builds after the class is done. Donated? Scrapped?

Where did they source the wood? Wish I could find lumber that nice

The pine was sourced in local Latvian woods. We try to get the wintercut trees usually. The best is the moon-wood, which is cut when the moon is waning, and that is actually from now until full moon in February 12. That wood is tested to be more weather resistant (old stave churches in Norway are still standing because they were harvested properly and above all that they also prepared the trees years before cutting by injuring them, making open spots in the bark).
