I went on a hunt down for Infusium 23 leave in. At the time I found the purple bottles and bought the shampoo and conditioner and leave in from the moisture line (blue) and only the leave in from the Keratin (pink) line. The moisture Shampoo uses Ammonium Laureth Sulfate. And therefore it’s now my clarifying shampoo and gets the job done. I love the conditioner too. I knew the formulation of the leave ins were probably different from the Original (white) however they are doing more than, much more than other leave ins I’ve used. So thank you for sharing about Infusium as I’d never heard about it. I’m originally from Africa and don’t remember seeing it back then and hadn’t seen it here in the US (many years now) before you spoke of it.

Edit: ammonium lauryl sulphate and ammonium laureth sulfate. It really cleanses. I’ve tried ORS used to use it…. And Suave. Suave is actually decent I was surprised. Infusium 23 Moisture Shampoo also has disodium EDTA. However, you have to follow it with its own conditioner. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! . Nothing else before their own conditioner and that leaves my hair and scalp clean, soft, feels nourished so after my wash day today I think it’s time to put this on my clarifying holy grail for now until I empty it then may try PM. Aww… I read all of this and THIS IS AWESOME!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Doesn’t it feel good to find products that actually work on your hair?! Wow… So elated that the Infusium23 products are now in your hair regimen line up. I used to use their conditioner, too (I think it was the avocado and something?) and I liked it a LOT. Can’t remember why I stopped using it, but I know it was one of my staples for a while. But good for you for trying it out and finding a “keeper”! That’s whassup! Thanks for sharing! ♥️

I use Neutrogena anti residue but it can be drying. I'm using the Moroccan oil line so the Moroccan oil clarifying shampoo is on my list. I've used Keracare 1rst lather and Redken cleansing cream. Another thing to mention is that many times people say that their hair "got used" to a product and it doesn't work anymore, when actually they need a clarifying shampoo.
@DolceDawn3 жыл бұрын
Hey, danysedai! Great point and I agree! I think it’s just product buildup, too. I also tried Neutrogena yearsssss ago and found their shampoo super drying as well. Haven’t touched it since.

Consider trying Straight Request After Calcium. It is a conditioning chelator that is specifically formulated to remove calcium and other mineral deposits and is a Black owned brand.

When I was natural I used part ACV and water to clarify my hair... haven’t tried it yet on relaxed hair... I also can vouch for Kenra shampoo and conditioners. I got them for a good price at TJMaxx and I use the for quick washes in between my go to products. They are great products... will grab the clarifying shampoo next time! Great info! 😍

Hi Dolce, I noticed that you use a no-lye relaxer. From what I have heard, those who use a no-lye relaxer should chelate their hair to rid it of the calcium that builds from the relaxer. What do you think about this? Do you chelate? I am very interested in this because I use a no-lye (usually Just For Me or ORS), but I don't know anything about Chelating. I would great appreciate your opinion. Thanks!
@virginiawolf17083 жыл бұрын
There is a chelating conditioner that I use. It it called Straight Request After Calcium. An excellent product, I use it on relaxer day and when I want to strip my hair but maintain moisture.
@patb25823 жыл бұрын
Idk when dolce will respond but you should check out her relaxer routine video because she addressed this in the comments
@DolceDawn3 жыл бұрын
Hey, ChristyJane! I have heard the whole no-lye/chelate conversation before, too, but strongly feel that with the right products, you don’t have to do that. I never have and I’ve been using nothing but no-lye relaxers for years. The right shampoos should be sufficient in washing away anything left behind as long as your hair is not bogged down with a lot products to begin with. That’s where clarifying comes into play. But if you’ve never had a problem with your no-lye relaxer and the feel of your hair (e.g., a chalky residue) then I would not worry about chelating or getting a special chelating shampoo. Again, the right shampoo should be sufficient.
