My parents went to New York City in the summer of 2007 when they started construction of the Freedom tower. If I remember correctly from the photos my parents took of the progress of the construction, they were almost done with the underground foundation of the Freedom tower & there was a temporary museum dedicated to 9/11 where a window of one of planes (most likely the second plane) was on display next to a photo of the second plane before it hit the south tower.

You left out the PA memorial if you want to get technical. Another video idea, what if one or more planes got delayed enough to not go through with the attack, would the FBI have looked at other flights that day, did they do so in case there was a fifth plane, would the hijackers flee the country or do another kind of attack? Off topic to this video but I wonder if the pilots of the 2 planes that hit the WTC had a target each or was it a case of if you 2nd, just hit the other building, I guess it would depend on which direction they were coming from so they could line up since each tower was hit from the direction they stood at (north tower hit from the north, south tower hit from the south)

I think the complex is actually starting to more closely resemble the old WTC in an odd way, they've been adding many sculptures, the XO one is reminiscent of the sphere, and of course they brought that back too. The new performing arts center in a strange way reminds me of the stage from the original WTC, it brings music back to the complex, even if only in closed doors. Would love to hear them integrate some calming Muzak into the complex, nothing too upbeat ofc out of respect.

@@WoodlandGoblin2025The occulus is right where the plaza is and theres another building with graffiti on it next to the occulus. So the occulus is where the plaza is and the sphere was somewhere in that plaza space maybe a little further in. All of that area including the occulus was part of the plaza. That's why it's eery.

What if the planes hit lower?
@Centinily29 күн бұрын
Well, the North and South tower collapsed at different times specifically for this reason. The south tower was hit way lower meaning it had so much more weight on top of it, causing it to buckle. Had they hit even lower they would've both collapsed faster and certainly would've killed even more people

I often wonder how much different the entire WTC area would look today if 9/11 didn’t happen. NYC has evolved so much since 2001 in terms of its skyline and there are so many modern skyscrapers that stand among both iconic old ones such as the Empire State, Crystler etc, and some ugly ass 1970’s buildings which to be fair the twin towers were. I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way and I think the buildings were absolutely iconic but they did fall in to that sort of outdated but not particularly pretty era of skyscraper architecture. So I wonder how much the WTC area would have changed today in terms of building newer buildings around the twin towers had they not been destroyed. From what I know there was a lot of space around the twin towers since NYC was a little more sparsely populated back then and not every square foot of the island of Manhattan was a real estate opportunity. Contrast that to now where they are running out of ground space to build stuff and turning to selling air space rights. So I am sure the WTC today would be different to the one of 2001 even of the twin towers stood.
