Have my wood boiler for awhile already (Canada). My boiler has a different air valve opener,instead of a spring it has a actuator type that opens the valve,no coil and spring anymore :)

That would be nice. I'm not sure I would go with a heat master again. When you say "anymore" did it used to and you converted it or did it come that way (asking for a friend LOL)

Hey boiler people, any thought on orienting the unit relative to prevailing wind? I’m thinking I want my back to the wind so opening the door won’t blow the smoke in my face.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. I wanted mine in line with the drive and being in the woods the wind is minimal and not very predictable.
