Thanks for posting this vid. VERY helpful! I've been using TPV for about 2-3 weeks now, and it works for what I need (doing w/o's from my coach in TP). I've had Zwift since 2015, and I've never done a race and almost never just did an open ride. Main draw for me is to lose the double whammy of TP and Zwift annual fees.

yeah, I think for those who want to ride different routes AND interact with others, Zwift is still the best option. But, for a more "interesting" way to ride a workout for Training Peaks users, this fits the bill nicely. And I like the Critical Power charts.

Zwift will kill itself with price increases, I think they'll lose a big portion of their accounts. I left because they doubled their price. Not worth it for me.
@BuildPeakCompeteАй бұрын
More competitors may help keep prices down across the board. That would be a good thing.
@John-zs5nw5 күн бұрын
Zwift will be forced to reduce their price as they lose customers....who is going to pay more for a virtual riding platform with little analytics vs a full coaching and analytics platform plus virtual riding. The main thing they are missing is running, know you get it free with Zwift but won't be long before VP has it as their platform is big for triathletes

If they keep it included on the TP premium subscription, I`ll never look back at the other options. I care more about the training part than the game part tho.

This is way to geeky for me. I use the Tacx TTS4 software I bought when I bought my trainer back in 2014. Yes it still works on a dedicated PC and I have never had to buy subscription services. Can you imagine how much money I have saved in all those years? I get what I want out of my trainer and that is to stay in good shape and race against my own ghost rider performances. No need for social interaction either.

Nah... I get the feeling that the majority of Zwifters will never try something new, it's a convenient, very gamified platform that most people use for a spin session, and loads are happy with the garbage "basic" profile you get on ATV(no shadows, terrible graphics) and probably also do it on a phone, tablet or laptop with stuttering powerpoint graphics. The actual physics in Zwift are a joke (Like pedalling 80km/h around a 90 degree corner with no slowing or braking etc) but iV (and Mywhoosh) are against a captured market and won't ever break through. iV graphics are a joke and very limited courses with loads of fake bots, maybe they'll get that sorted, but the physics are superb, as is the fully customisable HUD. And MyWhoosh is actually pretty good graphics (capped 30fps?) and physics... I'm off Zwift and using iV until it costs, mixed with some free MyWhoosh, that'll see me through this winter. Zwift isn't worth the money at all and if I ever start paying (I got a years free when they killed RGT) I'd probably go to Rouvy!!

This is it. Graphics are irrelevant if the physics are useless, and they are useless in Zwift. The physics foundation of iV is so good that they can easily add better graphics down the line. Unfortunately Zwift are stuck with a poor physics model.

No. Not by a million miles. The Zwift API to allow import of 3rd party workouts into the Zwift UI e.g TrainerRoad will kill that off. Competitiion is good, but Zwift killer it aint.

I’m a 100% Zwiftie. Use Zwift for races, Group rides and Group workouts. Time flies by while making fun with each other on group rides. The same on group workouts, but also encouraging each other on hard workouts helps a lot. And jeez … al that complaining about the price. What’s 200 euro/year if it helps you stay fit while having fun?

Zw spent a lot if money on the trainer bike, which never went to sale and z ride. Fyi 2000 cad 😦, noisy roller instead of sprocket, square taper crank; no crank power meter and can't change crank length. Easy adjustment? So what? If a husband and wife are using the same bike they still will use their own saddle. Even two men would want his own specific saddle. It would have to be changed out evey time. Zw should have had a paying race series.

why do so many KZbinrs seem to gloat when a new virtual cycling app surfaces claiming Zwift is dead? How does it help grow the virtual environment if training peaks poach their members from another cycling app? Shouldn't they be drawing new virtual racers instead? Good points. From the comments and dialogue thus far, it’s clear that people use these platforms for different reasons. Some like the group rides, others the races, and others just like riding fun courses. For our athlete, we’re mainly concerned with how a VR platform integrates with the Training Peaks workouts we give to our athletes and thus far TPV seems like it’s going to be the #1 choice for that.
