Deryck keeps looking better and better, Makes you think.....the body needs so much time to recover and adjust to new lifestyle choises. This dude aged 5 years since he was hospitalized but actually looks younger

Being an alcoholic and addict for several years and only being sober/clean for about a year I can fully agree with this comment. I was looking 20 years older than what I actually was. But even a year clean has made a big difference. I'm proud of anyone who has successfully come from such a point and is able to go back to what they love doing and are passionate about. I still have a long way to go but he's inspire me quite a lot.

Love you Deryck! I only wish Sum 41 would release longer albums and more frequently to compensate for the limbo some of us fans were between 2011-2016

I never knew about the "started the band 41 days into the summer" I always just assumed it was an actual Sum of something that totalled 41, but I had no idea what. That is a really unique name when you think about it in that sense.

@gianlucabaccino5 жыл бұрын
@@seanfinn1046 I mean is that really accurate? Or it was when they started the band? Deryck has been asked a lot of times the exactly day when the band was created and he doesn´t remember exactly.

@@gianlucabaccino Cone once said it was July 31st. I don't know what to believe. I think of it like Christmas or Independence day; it doesn't really matter as long as we all pick the same day.

The heavier the better..... which is why Sum 41 is the best pop-punk band there is! They are more metal than punk at this point ;)
@BenSlashes5 жыл бұрын
They are not really a Pop Punk Band. Their only real Pop Punk album was All Killer no Filler. The rest was Punk Rock, Metal, Pop Rock, Alternative, Melodic Rock
@matusszabo31415 жыл бұрын
@@BenSlashes they had 2 pop punk albums underclass hero, all killer no filler (and some songs from doest this look infected)

@@matusszabo3141Yeah but Underclass Hero has some "Heavier" Songs on it (Count your last blessings, King of Contradiction), and overall it sounds a bit harder than All Killer. Does this look infected has Pop Songs? Which Songs do you mean?

Days with Matyus I think half hour of power was the most pop punk of sum 41’s albums and all killer and infected were more punk rock

Is Sum 41 even a band ? he should just go solo ... I do not hear much in terms of 'we' or 'band' in his answers ... he produced , wrote lyrics and music, it's him and a bunch of hired musicians it seems to me ...
@dustinparlier39645 жыл бұрын
Watch the videos that they've put out that are 1 minute clips each talking about the process. It's very collaborative and if you hear other interviews it's pretty clear that there is a lot of collaboration. And Deryck has always been the brain behind everything and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. He wouldn't probably be able to play the stuff that Brown sound does or the stuff that Frank does, so I wouldn't look at it so negatively
@gianlucabaccino5 жыл бұрын
I mean Deryck is the leader of the band and very creative but im pretty sure that he needs the rest of the guys for this band, 5 minds are better than one and obviously he gets stucked doing the songs and he will need the help of the rest of the band. Frank is a beast in the drums, Cone has a really solid bass playing, Tom is the agressive/rythim guitar and also the piano and background voice in the live performances and Dave is great at creating metal/hard guitar solos and connecting them with the songs. That is what a band is, everyone has their own speciality and when you put those special skills together you have a band, and when you have a band with special skills then you have good songs. Of course Deryck could just go solo he is a great musician but I don´t believe that he would enjoy it.

It is a lot of work to run a band fulltime, put music and songs together... Tour. Hell the last album was a 3 year tour. Yeah, it's definitely not a job at all. Smh. He works his ass off and gets paid. Don't be salty you don't get paid for doing what you love and are passionate about.
