I am a broker in Massachusetts and I was just watching an episode and Ryan told a client that she needed a Real Estate License to sell her own home. That is 100% untrueand Ryan knows it. So there goes the "new" Ryan and he's back to "slezzey" Ryan. No need for dishonesty but when it's part of your DNA there's nothing you can do!

Whilst it's not illegal in NYC to sell your own home, the pure nature of the MLS, buyers agents and contracts means that it will be damn near impossible to sell it yourself, not to mention the seller wears 100% liability for any failure to disclose. So if you want it sold, then yes, you do need a license or employ someone with one - particularly the higher the sale price - no lawyer in their right mind would allow their client to buy a property FSBO.

Those are all good reasons but they don't excuse lying. The context of the conversation Ryan daid he was recruiting her as a salesperson so he wasn't acting in her bedt interest. We, real estate professionals, cannot condon his actions
