The one thing I always think of with Kiss is how hard they worked for what they have. Defining the music they wanted to play, what they wanted their shows to be like, their image, etc. But behind all of it, they worked their butts of to fulfill those dreams and make everything reality. I think a lot of people overlook just how much they have accomplished and bands/industry they’ve influenced. Pretty incredible when you step back and look at their entire career.
@moonroach48395 жыл бұрын
It may not be the original lineup, but these guys deserve to be there too they’ve been in the band nearly 20 years. That being said ace needs to play, and peter needs to at least get a bow on the stage I understand if he physically can’t play anymore but if he can more power to KISS!!

Back in the 70s I was a Kiss fanatic. My brother and I would practically break our necks getting into the living room if there was a Kiss commercial on TV just to get a glimpse of the band. This was before VHS even existed. We were Kiss Army members and voracious collectors.. When "Kiss Meets The Phantom Of The Park" aired, after much anticipation, I taped a microphone to the TV speaker and recorded the audio on an 8-track tape. My parents weren't teal thrilled with me because I wanted everyone to be dead quiet. A dream came true when we finally got to see them in concert in Pontiac, MI on July 13th 1979 (Friday the 13th) with Cheap Trick opening on the Dynasty tour. I saw them again with Queensryche in Detroit at the Joe Louise Arena in 1984 on the Animalyze tour. That show is the one that was released on home video back then. Still have the ticket stubs. Great memories but the "magic" was lost when "Lick It Up" took the mystery away. Unless you were there you can't even imagine it. I actually had huge makeshift hand drawn Kiss logos written with black El MarkO permanent markers on all four fenders of my '73 Ford LTD. The over-inflated egos worked better when they were characters rather than people. They were still a great band but it wasn't the same. I didn't really feel near that level of excitement again until the real Kiss reunited for Psycho Circus, then the band battles deflated the balloon again. For me, Kiss is Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. These days I'm disabled and couldn't afford today's ticket prices though it would be interesting to see and be a part of. I hope it goes great for them, and no disrespect to any of the replacements over the years, but without Ace and Peter it's just not Kiss for me.

Ticket sales will decide, I think. If sales are soft, Ace and Peter might get a call but the tour's only a few months away, to get those guys in shape for it now? Nope. At best it would be an occasional guest appearance, then there's makeup logistics, Ace isn't walking out there in street clothes next to Tommy Spaceman lol... nah, they're selling it as the four current guys and that's it. Kiss is a never ending soap opera these days with fans going on about Paul's voice, who's in the band/who should be in the band, etc. it'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

It's a great show to see, seen it 8x, with various line-ups including the original. If it makes you that angry? If it repels you that far? Why even recognize it? They're old guys, it is a business. Why not make a zillion bucks, last time around? The amount of animosity on here is evidence of some mad passion somewhere. I think it's because it isn't being done the way you want? I bet if it were Ace and Peter, you'd hear crickets when it comes to comments on Paul's voice. It's simple. If you don't like it, the best way to damage it, is simply don't acknowledge it I would think? Making numerous negative remarks I think displays you either did like it once upon a time, or maybe secretly still do? I've enjoyed Kiss for 40 years. Appreciative of all they have done, especially all of my other favorite musicians whom were influenced by them. I'm glad they are going out in style. They're going to make everyone involved a lot of money and kudos to them. Everyone complaining should instead use their energy to find something they appreciate instead....you'be be happier.
@matthewallison6 жыл бұрын
@@jocat2008 People are bent out of shape because Gene and Paul have said, time and time again, they do what they do for the fans. Gene said at a vault event this year that he works for the fans, we're his bosses, and if the fans don't like something they should say so. Well, the fans are saying "We don't like this" and Gene and Paul are saying "We don't care. We said we did, but we don't." Why don't they care? Because there are enough other "fans" who can't resist the pull of nostalgia and the need to prove their allegiance to a band that stopped caring about them 17 years ago. They are not "going out in style". They don't look good, they don't sound good and they have two fill-ins in the band pretending to be other people. There's footage of Gene in the 80's talking about how if they were to put the make-up back on and tour they'd essentially be their own cover band. That's exactly what happened. We were sold a bill of goods with the reunion. Watch or read any of the interviews from '96 where Paul and Gene (and Doc Magee) all say that they got back together for the fans, they only did it because it was truly special and felt right. This hasn't felt right since 2001. If all you want is a fireworks display and to hear a bunch of songs you recognize and you have $150-$7500 laying around then have at it. But if you paid attention and listened to those guys when they put the makeup back on and you took what they said their intentions were to heart then this End of The Road tour is a giant thud at the end of their career. I saw them for the first time in '79 then again in '96 and '97. Then I made the mistake of paying $250 in 2003 to see them with Aerosmith. Tommy was filling in for Ace and it wasn't right. Everything that was special about the reunion was gone and replaced by a weak nostalgia act. Whenever they pop up for a new album or tour and Gene is clomping around in his ill-fitting plastic costume making fish faces it does nothing but make me wish they'd stopped in 2001. I have plenty of other interests that make me happy but that doesn't mean that they can't continue to disappoint me. If fans have expectations it's because Gene and Paul set them.

KIss are renowned for their pyro ! - They didn't start pyro though. Earlier bands such as '' The Who '' / Maybe '' Thin Lizzy '' / David Bowie / Alice Cooper etc also had pyro and theatrics. Kiss were DEFINATELY the 1st band '' To package '' the pyro. However - As I die hard fan of 39 years a band cannot rely on pyro alone. Make no mistake the Kiss show was and still Is the biggest live rock show in history. I hope Ace and Peter are granted the honour of finishing the show. The Encores. AGAIN - NOTHING WOULD HAVE COME AFTER THE ORIGINAL FOURSOME. THERE WOULD BE NO '' END OF THE ROAD TOUR WITHOUT WHAT THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS STARTED 46 YEARS AGO - PERIOD.

Lets hear vintage material tracks. - Let me know / Got to choose / Parasite / All the way / Strange ways / She / Makin Love / Rocket ride / 100.000 years / Save your love / - And of course the original staples. Strutter / Love Gun / And the classic of all time Black Diamond

21:23 - No, Gene... Truly, from the heart, thank all of YOU! What a tremendous philosophy for entertainers to have. I've been listening to Kiss since "Alive" (1975), which came out just as I was entering college. I've never been a more enthusiastic Kiss fan than I am right now, after hearing what's in the guys' hearts. The reason Kiss is still #1 to their fans and the reason the fans are still #1 to the band are the same. It's love! I'm the guy from one small nasty country in the middle of Balkan (Eastern Europe) - Serbia. I'm 42 years old and I am one of the greatest fans of Guns'n'Roses and Skid Row (in my country of course 😁)... There are more bands, but... KISS.., yup! I have to admit that I'm more than proud to be at least little part of KISS existence. It was year 88 when I bought "Smashes, Thrashes & Hits"! I was 12 and I didn't know what kind of audio tape I bought... Just same day I realized that I heard some of songs on radio, plus wtf - Gene was the guy that I saw in the movie just year or two before in cinema "Never Too Young To Die"! Really I get crazy about that band in that time. Since then they are one of my favorite - respect.., big respect! A specially about Paul's lessons, influence and stories about meaning of a rhythm guitar, and... I'm grateful. I got a bigger push when I saw Slash and Sebastian Bach with KISS te-shirts! There was a lot of stuff! I could preaching whole night hahahaha... Tnx guys!!! Petar 🤘
