We have a collection of Wheelhorses. Truly EXCELLENT tractors. The 500 Special was likely not used at the track specifically as the '68 and up models appear to be higher HP. This particular tractor is an absolute gem. Very nice restoration. The front plate on this one is most likely a trailer ball mount. It's a popular idea to move trailers with the front of a tractor to facilitate ease of vision and steering. THANK YOU for posting this!!

Back when they were built to last, made from REAL steel and cast iron! As a lifelong resident of Northwest Ohio, as well as someone that also collects old tractors, I was very impressed with the Wheel Horse 500 that someone had displayed in the tractor show at our local county fair this year. I never did catch up with the owner though.
