I think this old Wheel horse will make someone a fine mower, maybe for years.

Love those rear discharge mower decks these old Wheel Horse tractors had on them. And the beautiful job they did when they cut the grass is awesome!

In 1975, Wheel Horse tractors were purchased by American Moters Corporation, manufactures of the Rambler cars, and ran the Wheel Horse tractor line up until the other big three ran American Moters Corporation out of business in 1985. From there Toro picked up the Wheel Horse tractor line and the Lawn Boy push mowers .

Oh Kyle you should have kept that one for sure. That would have been an easy restore for you. And you could have used it in Peeraids and Shows and given kiddy rides too. If I would have had the money I would own it for sure. Wheel Horse back then were super tough tractors until TORO got hold of them.

Use to own one just like it. Sold and wish I hadn't. They are work horses. After selling, it was in a barn fire which totally destroyed it.

@Kylebythecreek You should keep it and pass it on to your son.

That's quite the businessplan you have there. It may take 1 or 2 years, but then you can stay home in front of the telly, and have your son washing all your tractors and your daughter filming and editing everything... smart 😁 Happy new year&best wishes from the Netherlands 👍

I'd have a super hard time parting with a Wheel Horse. To me it would be considered a classic like a '55 or '57 Chevy.
@Kylebythecreek7 күн бұрын
I completely understand. I held on to it for years and I just wasn’t using it. I hope the person I sold it to will give it a better home- not in a temporary shed like I had it
@Rein_Ciarfella11 ай бұрын
Good one, Kyle. I suspect if you can’t find any/many for sale then this machine would definitely be in the “collectibles” category, and as such be worth quite a bit more than a running/ driving, functional tractor. Maybe it’s time to look into some collectors forums to zero in on value. Then it might actually be a unit you can sell in the Winter for full price. 🤞🔧👍

Very cool video. That is one of the last short frame tractors made. Being a running and mowing tractor I would say $300.00 - 350.00 would be a good asking price. I would take those railroad tie plates off the front axle. They will make the wheel bearing/bushings wear more. Very nice and original machine. I'd leave it original but clean it really well. Rub it down with 0000 steel wool followed by Boiled Linseed oil. Just my opinion though. Thanks for sharing.

Wood is goofy for sure. You know what else is goofy? Using Ryobi in 2024
@Kylebythecreek11 ай бұрын
Hi. I get a lot of Ryobi comments. Very strange in my opinion. I’m just a hobbyist, and these tools work great for what I do. Plus, many of them are gifted to me for Christmas and birthdays. I have no problem using these tools. I hope you can still enjoy my content despite viewing a tool brand that you don’t prefer
@Rein_Ciarfella11 ай бұрын
@@Kylebythecreek I purchased a Ryobi drill over 30 years ago and aside from the chuck which developed a minor issue it has been a workhorse ever since. I eventually purchased a second and third battery for it and have had all three rebuilt and upgraded with stronger cells about 3 times. I purchased a duplicate one maybe 4 years ago on eBay so now I have 5 batteries and two chargers. 🔧👍 Oh, and I think those wood fenders are genius! Simple, easy to fabricate and install, easy to replace and they do the job perfectly. 👍
