Nice video. We have the same exact setup. But I put Detroit limited slip front and back in my LJ. But I have a d-44 in the back and kept the stock D-30. 4west told me to not waste my money on D-44. That the new D-30 is just as good as the D-44. I have a lot of Rock crawling with no problem and no breakage. Happy Jeepen and nice build

Awesome build, that TJ is stout! Incidentally, not a fan of half doors, I'm an all or nothing with those. The doors and windows are in the garage from April - October on my '05 TJ Rocky Mtn. Much prefer the great open air experience. But they look clean on your rig, in fact this TJ is the cleanest I've seen for someone who actually wheels their Jeep. I'm the same, before the family moved, I use to beat my TJ up and get it caked with mud. Regardless of what wheelin' I do, I will always maintain it inside out and that includes keeping it looking good like this.
@_everydayoffroad_

Appreciate the kind words! Something about the half doors just makes a TJ look so good, but I understand your point. That’s why I love having both. We wheel our TJ hard but also realize that they don’t make these anymore so we better take care of it and maintain it so it will last.

@@_everydayoffroad_ The TJ is the greatest generation of Jeep and like you said, they aren't making these amazing vehicles anymore. I'm not as rough as I was with my TJ. Reason being, since the family moved, the only off roading that is remotely close now is beach wheelin' in the Outer Banks. Which also includes great surf fishing and awesome beach camping. This has quickly become my family's favorite type of wheelin, and it's a lot less of a toll on the rig. This will definitely add years to the 4.0! 😎

@@_everydayoffroad_ I took off my full doors last year and put on tube doors. The full doors haven’t went back on since. I live in a very warm climate year round tho. If I lived up north, the full doors would have to go back on in the cold months. Those tube doors make the driving experience so much more fun. (I would go totally doorless, but I have a dog that goes everywhere with me, and the tube doors are like a mental barrier to keep him from jumping out. Or falling out. Plus, the tube doors have the side mirrors.)

Beautiful build. Saw your older videos before. You've done alot since your last post. I have a 2000 Sahara myself. I'm running a mix and match on my suspension. Rough Country long arm with Rock Krawler 4.5 triple rate coils and the Metal Clock "Lock and Load". I have the manual Rugged Ridge Quik disconnects. Rugged Ridge 1Ton steering linkage. Front and rear Warn bumpers, underneath running Barnes 4WD engine transmission skid plate, Barnes 4WD low profile skid plate, Warn gas tank skid plate and Warn front and rear diff guards. Have Warn steering gear box guard. Poison Spider trail roll cage and Poison Spider Rock Sliders. Have full corner body side armor. Yukon 488 gears with front and rear lockers. Have 35's Cooper Discoverer SST PRO on Pro-Comp D-window 15x10 with -44 offset. Have a York compressor for onboard air. Under the hood got Pacesetter headers, K&N cold air intake with Pacesetter Catback exhaust and throttle body spacer. All my lights are on a light POD controller. 8 KC pod rock lights bolted to bottom of frame. Raptor lined the inside of tub and the exterior. The list goes on. Here a short video if you'd like to check it out. Take care and keep us updated. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3asnqmOpcl9Z8U

I removed the tag mount and wrapped the tag around the corner of the tub. Just a couple of self tapping screws. I no longer have any tag lights but it never gets driven on the road.

Definitely not as tight and firm on road, which is why I much prefer my JKS quick disconnects.

It provides a little stability compared to no sway bar but depends on the setting you run it on. Plenty of people daily drive with anti rocks but running one of the more moderate settings. Definitely won’t be as firm as a true factory sway bar though.

The Smittybilt page says the SRC cage isn't compatible with frameless soft tops. Isn't the Trektop frameless? I'm about to pickup a TJ with a Trektop and would like to add something like the Smittybilt cage reinforcement. Is it only the rear bar that doesn't work?
@_everydayoffroad_
@_everydayoffroad_ Жыл бұрын
You can use frameless soft tops if you either slide the rear bar down toward the tub, or don’t use it at all. The rest is compatible.

So awesome. Super clean. Quick question, I have 33/12.5/17. What gears do you recommend for off road / highway combined? Takes me 2.5 hours to get to trails near me. All highway till I hit the dirt. What would you recommend?
@_everydayoffroad_
@_everydayoffroad_ Жыл бұрын
For more of an Offroad use I’d honestly recommend 4.56. But for a good mix and to return to near factory feel, 4.10 would probably be your best bet.

Love the Jeep. I have an 05’ LJ on 33’s. I really wanted 35’s but was worried about the Dana 30/44 combo. Any issues with the 35’s and Dana 30? What kind of trails do you wheel? I have gone to redbird and windrock so far.
@_everydayoffroad_
@_everydayoffroad_ Жыл бұрын
We go to Stony Lonesome OHV, Windrock, Turkey Bay, Hot Springs ORV, and Hawk Pride. We wheel medium to difficult trails, staying off of the extremely difficult (rock buggy) trails. To this point we have not had any issues out of the 30/35 combo but our Dana 30 has 30 spline RCV shafts and our Dana 35 has Chromoly shafts. It all depends on driving style. Ours is a 5 speed manual with 4.56 gearing so we just get on an obstacle and attempt to crawl it using light throttle.

It’s Color Coat SEM 5545 Khaki. They don’t sell it on the website, you have to call and get it custom mixed. It’s a common product so not sure why they don’t offer it, because when you call and say you need 5545 khaki for Jeep doors they go “oh yeah, I know what you need”.
@JeepTJWheelin

@@_everydayoffroad_ I'm considering using this cool khaki shade on the interior of my '05 Rocky Mtn. Dig my TJ but the black interior is boring. Much prefer the sharp CJ-7, the Sahara YJ and TJ interiors the best. Like yours, they just look more like a classic Jeep.

I'm trying to decide between Trail Grappler 35x12.5R17 on 305 Method wheels and 35x12.5R15 Cooper STT Pro on MT wheels. I don't do much wheeling, mostly on pavement. Whats your take on that?
@_everydayoffroad_
@_everydayoffroad_ Жыл бұрын
The nitto and the cooper are both great tires. Probably top 2 on the market right now. The methods and MT’s weigh about the same, so it’s really an aesthetic preference for you at this point. Both tires will last a long time and wear great if you keep them rotated. Out of those, obviously my preference is the Nitto and Method.

Your worries about drilling holes in the tub are nothing compared to the body nmods required for 37s. I can safely recommend you leave it as is. Unless you're into wrecking Yard POS builds to chop up.
@_everydayoffroad_
@_everydayoffroad_ Жыл бұрын
High lines in the front require cutting the hood. Clearing 37’s in the back with a 4.5” lift of anything will require cutting off the pinch weld around the wheel well some. No big deal, see it all the time.

And those Bartacts are by far the best seat covers out there, and the only covers I will ever have in my '05 Rocky Mtn.
