Built the Head on my Girlfriends Evo while it was still in the car!

On this Episode we will be going over how to install Valve Springs, Retainers, and Head-studs without pulling the Head or changing the Head-gasket on my girlfriends 2005 Evo 8. Also for an added bonus we will be putting in a set of Kelford 272 Camshafts as well.

Thanks. Hope all goes well on your build. 2.4s are torque monsters. We have one in Alan's Evo with a 6466 on it.

So the 2 pistons only have to be tdc? We don't have to compress the cylinder with air to keep the valve closed?

Correct. If the piston is at top then the lowest valve can drop is to the bottom of the combustion chamber. Which is the top of the pistons itself.

@@snailfedperformance7177 Would putting a long screwdriver into the cylinders finding highest point on pistons work also?

@@snailfedperformance7177 wouldn't the valve drop some without air pressure keeping it fully closed? if so, would you still be able to re-install the keepers?
