Know what you mean my family is similar lol, and I had worked on vehicles and machinery on either the shop floor or the driveway in the gravel,or in the field where it broke..., with either of all the people my younger brother who is gone now and one of my best friend's both passed away about 3 years apart from single vehicle accidents so trust me I understand that statement... and I like turning wrenches even just as hobby or working on my own junk and I will more than likely get me another square body Chevy truck one of the easiest trucks I've ever worked on I've owned several... Anyways a few people I know who some of them actually change a few things on their cars had asked me how did you learn how to fix your own cars and trucks,,I said they broke and I couldn't afford to send them to the garage and pay them per hour to put the transmission back in my 4x4 truck,so if I wanted my cars and trucks fixed then I was going to have to fix them, kinda like the olds 307 roller cam 86 Buick Regal Sport Coupe, it's distributor destroyed itself and this was in 2001 I couldn't afford a new ac delco replacement distributor so much like I dealt with chevy v8 starters on my trucks usually,I went and bought the correct distributor drive gear for the roller cam and I bought a new gm ignition control module and pickup coil, came home ripped the broke distributor out in the driveway and took a punch and ball peen hammer knocked the roll pin out pulled the chewed up gear off which was the wrong gear distributor had been swapped before I got the car... Pulled the shim off knocked the shaft up and out, changed out the half working but stumbling idle pickup coil and then the ignition control module with the contact Grease on the back, reassembled the distributor and shim, and finished with adding the correct bronze roller cam specific distributor drive gear on the shaft and reinstalled the roll pin threw the distributor back in the motor put the rotor, hei distributor cap and new replacement spark plug wires on it and moved it off the driveway,so momma's 96 ford f250 super cab long bed 460bbf farm truck could actually use the driveway,so I didn't necessarily learn to fix cars just because I wanted to,it is more like out of necessity it had to get fixed, can't afford to take it to the shop who wanted to charge me $250 to fix the car by putting a distributor in it

The message in this video brings it full circle for me and my dad. I have a 01’ blazer and an original 68’ Mustang coupe rust bucket. I’d much rather be wrenching on my Mustang than my blazer. The old cars are just built better. Point I’m trying to make here is tough love... it’s a necessity in life for most men growing up. We need to be forced to manage our own situations. Your video, your message portrayed here in the beginning... it’s been full circle for me and why it was the way it was when I was at home. In time we learn the love we were shown. And I just wanted to say thank you for revealing it to me!!! My dad an I work together everyday, and it’s truly entertaining trying to manage that in itself. But watching you guys, it helps me a lot. Thank you for the underlying messages. Lots of us out here watch your channels for more than racing content. So keep up the amazing work!!!

No sir.... thank YOU. You and your family are literally THE breath of fresh air that me and my family needed. I am now forty eight years old and currently live in southern California, but I was born in Parma, Ohio and lived there until I was about ten years old in the Brunswick area. My father worked for GM during the height of the muscle car era and did some stock/super stock racing with unorthodox combinations like a '59 El Camino with a 348 and two fours. He was always on the light and consistent at rowing the gears and ultimately won more than he lost. He was a great man, a great father, and humble to boot. I was helping in the garage as soon as I was old enough to know what a wrench was. He let me make mistakes and struggle with certain things along the way too, which is why it really hit home when you mentioned hating to see your son struggle with the little blazer but it was necessary because you won't always be there. My pop had an aneurysm when I was only eighteen....passed when I was twenty six. He was my best friend. So I get that sentiment better than most. You guys keep doing what doing. You are awesome.

Your channel is my favorite channel on KZbin. I bought me a Camaro to restore because of your videos. Learning a lot from you and your kids. It's been a great few months.

I've noticed how thankful you are in all of your videos and honestly I'm thankful that you make these videos for it to be possible for us too watch. I don't even watch TV but I make sure I watch every video that comes out and can't wait to see how the next day unfolds whether it's a good day or a bad day. Its a perfect highlight of my time watching so thank you sir for letting us in on your great family's journey each and everyday. I pray for God to make sure your family stays safe and can't wait to see those S10s back in action. Meanwhile I love watching you teach how to properly take apart and put back together these amazing chevy engines we all love. God bless and fords suck! 😆
