Despite the fact that this engine is tough and long-lasting, it is not without problems. One main component on the engine that can fail is the timing chain sensor. The problem started to develop when the company switched timing belts to connect the crankshafts with the camshafts. Closing the gap of the piston by bringing it closer to the chain by a single tooth is the easiest solution to the problem, but it might not be a permanent solution. Other issues with this engine include that the camshaft can wear out easily and the idle is sometimes rough. Leaking engine oil has also been reported, which makes keeping up with regular oil changes essential to maintaining proper health of the Honda K24. Some owners have also noted hearing engine noise upon starting the car, which can signal a deterioration (and necessitate replacement) for the engine’s VTC gear.

That dyno doesn't seem like its putting much load out? Maybe get it to pfi and use there AWD dyno and get brent to talk you through a tune. Gain some knowledge and power!

The problem are its a dynocom...they have always have big loading issues 😂 90% of owners in europe change the controlling system to ”dynocom delete”

Just curious as to why you're doing your pulls in 3rd gear? I'm pretty sure that's not 1:1 so the load on the car and hp numbers are way off. Hopefully you get it sorted though and good luck!

I would check both amp and voltage output at load. To rule out a bad battery cell creating a problem, check the individual battery cells with a hydrometer.

I feel like at the angle the car was sitting at all of the fuel is at the back of the tank as well as oil in your pan. Maybe raise the rear, do the big three upgrades and get a full size battery. That voltage drop is no bueno. Love the civic 🤘🏻

Why would the tuning software use absolute pressure and not psig? Do people really tune for the atmospheric pressure in certain altitudes?

dyno in 4th gear! you want it to be the 1:1 gear or closest you can, it will load it better. also more data points on a longer pull.

To be true if dynocom load controll have worked it doesn’t matter to the point the brake is to weak or highest gear when maximum speed reaches i have a braked dyno and see no difference in number on third or 4th. Still can det the ramp rate from 2500-9000 on 8,9,10sec or whatever i want to match what the car se on the street in a 4th gear pull and to ger enough sampels. Only unbraked shit like 90% or all dynojets on youtube that just used the rollers internia than you are load dependet on gear ratio.

Someone said its the dyno that's the problem. Those dynocom dynos have shitty load holding capabilities and need rebuilding. Hub dynos are weird but they're the future of what everyone's going to since you don't have to dig a pit or need a lift. And they're capable of testing higher hp builds than conventional dynos.

There is no load at all :D It is like you try to tune car on road in 1st gear :D After it hits boost, takes 1-2 seconds to redline - very "accurate" measurement LOL. And datalogs are surely spot on hehehehe Can't belive that they are trying tune this way ...

700 easy on stock cams nice work. What about cam angle I’m just assuming your tuning the timing on cam angle... I already see a multitude comments about voltage I imagine your heading down that path as well when you do your wiring. Great car keep going.

Didn't you use a very small battery on the Civic? Just wondering if that could be a problem to get the little higher voltage. Or maybe it's the alternator that's weared out. This is also if when you have wired the fuel pumps properly. And you still have problems with the voltage. Will be very interesting to see how it rips when you have it fully dialed in. The AWD is so fast in Civics and other converted FWD cars. When you go for going fast in a straight line.

Why were you doing the runs in 3rd? You want as close to 1:1 drive so for most that is 4th gear. Unless you are running longer ratios in the box.

I may be wrong maybe somebody can shed some light but I've always calculated Boost from KPA to boost this way. Say you are running 250kpa in Denver. 250-83=167 then ÷6.9=24.2psi If you were running 250 kPa say in Miami= 250-100=150 then÷6.9=21.7. This is how I was told to do it a long time ago and I've always done it this way not sure if it's right. Without my car running I've always looked at what the map reading was and that's where I would get my atmosphere number. Why are you guys dynoing the car in 3rd gear if you need to load the engine? wouldn't 4th gear be a better?

The fuel pumps are falling off because the voltage is so low you shouldn't see below 13.8 and I know the civics charge a little lower but it shouldn't be below 13.4 at the min 12.8 and below is just battery voltage the alt ain't doing nothing check the alt and if it's fine try doing big 3 if that don't work you might just want to get a mechman alt

the smoothing of that dyno might be hiding some data from you. looking at the top just looks way convinient for how abruptly the pulls end. it should drop to negative or close to 0 horsepower immediately yet it's drawing a nice big curve as it's heading back to 0 mph wheel speed. to me it stands through reason that it's cropping the top end of the graph just the same and it might actually be hiding some little dips. (nothing big, but like 1 degree of timing worth. the realy fine stuff.) allso you need way more runout control :D crank them eddy currents up!

You lose pressure because of your dropped voltage,need another relay and maybe better alternator,allso check your wairing gage.
