Built VG33 with Equal Length Manifolds - Test Drive

Here is a quick test drive that I did while cruising around.
I love the equal length manifold sound that it creates. It reminds me of the VQ35/37 or maybe even the GTR, haha.

So that explains why my 510 with a VG sounds SO different from basically everything else I have heard... S12 manifolds to an equal length Y pipe then out the back. It sounds great! Love your Z man, Z31s are greatly underloved

Definitely can’t go wrong with a Z I just recently traded my Jeep for 84 50th anniversary Datsun 300zx it runs so amazing, been looking for a long time for a good healthy z and I finally got one, there is nothing I don’t like about it, I know some will disagree with me but it’s going to be my street/ strip/ drift monster not for competition but to have fun in during the spring and summer times. 2 seater love it, ready to get to work in March for the next street car take off n Kansas City Missouri next yr August

I have a vg33e in a 98 pathfinder 🤔 best sounding v6 i ever heard. I want to turbo it bad. I will as soon as i can afford to. Thing is reliable I've gunned the throttle for years? She just keeps pulling with no problems.

Yeah man! I love the VG, it's super reliable if maintained or built correctly! I recently dyno'd the car again and it made 838rwhp at 41psi boost!

@@z31online that is awesome brother man! Congrats! Mine has a stable 350hp That's ported intake/heads/minor cam grind. I def wanna throw a turbo on/buy some forged rods/maybe pistons or modify them for better oiling. 🙂 maybe some solid lifters? But It's survived tons of rev limiter and off roading like crazy I bought another car just like it with no issues to use as parts. I've never had to do anything other than basic services And i run it hard lol But i keep good oil in her 🙂 Everything stays in good shape I've had to bypass the throttle body coolant hoses. Replace the timing belt after it snapped 😶 but she fired right back up 🤣 Got number one at tdc and was like yep. She'll run she's ran this long. Still doesn't have a single tick. 🤔 i wanna throw turbos on and it with 5 or 10 psi. Keep daily driving it lol I love it man, it's been the most reliable engine I've ever come across. The trans is a tad weird at shifting. but i have another that's perfect. You gotta make it shift with the throttle so. I run it at high rpm? She's smooth as butter and goes fast too. I beat like every truck/and car i come across 🤣 Unless it's a mustang or something, then i'm toast. But hey thanks for the reply 🙂 And i love the build, you did a great job. She sound's good/pulls good/looks good doing it.

Hey I dig the vg33 swap option my cars piston rings probably need replacing but I've been looking at jdm engine a decent vg33 is $900 only 40k miles on it the oil pan crankshaft and sump need swapped to fit in a z31 I've gotta look into the pluging it in but it's the same motor and transmission mounts
