Love to see those VW Bugs. I raced VW Bugs for almost a decade. Gene Berg everything. It actually costs more to build and race a VW Bug than a lot of other cars. Now racing a 383 powered 1982 Chevy S-10.

Building is way more fun as a person learns along the way, even though one can buy a 11 second car off the showroom floor today! I grew during the time when aluminum intakes, hooker headers, shift kits, Crager S/S 5 spokes, and 6/71 blowers were really bad ass street machines! Building these bad boys was a really big investment in time and money the 1980s and if one sold their car they usually took a loss of 30% ~ 40%. Many pride and joys just ended up as show cars on World of Wheels....! Back then a 14 second street car was really really fast!
