Editor note: Slight error on my part in this one, where Rosy is talking about Allium sphaerocephalon I labelled this onscreen as Allium schoenoprasum. Correct variety with zones is listed in the description however

REALLy helpful! Love how you had all the plants and dried heads for comparison, and how you took the pots apart to show people the roots and bulbs. When I first bought perennial alliums I couldn't find any real info on them anywhere.

Perfect clarification of the 2 types of Alliums. Removing them from the pots assures that we will remember the differences👍

That was really interesting. Especially that I have to plant more bulbs as the 30 I planted a few years ago have diminished to about 7 alliums! Also I had no idea about perennial alliums.

Do alliums need a cold period? I haven’t had much luck in 8a Georgia. Also may be the clay soil

I have clay soil also. My allium bulbs didn't last, but my perennial alliums - particularly Millennium - come back and increase.
