Well in my view as a foreigner, I do prefer Bulgaria over Luxembourg despite the fact of the salary differences and the quality of life. @@MladenVass I am thinking about immigrating to Bulgaria, but certainly not to have a luxurious life. All i d want is a working placement (hospital) and enough income for a home and food. However, what Mr Boyadzhiev said its NOT necessarily the case for everyone; I have chosen to return home after almost 12yrs abroad and having obtained 3yrs visa in Wellington, NZ. He could have pointed out for example the family reasons; so many people around the world DID NOT loose, BUT DID CHOOSE to quit their jobs, and to return to be around their loved ones.

I did not leave BG because of economical nor political reasons, I loved it. Every young person has to spend some time as an immigrant. The lessons are priceless. One does not fully value home until one leaves for a while. Many nations are used to live under some sort of rules and guidances and cannot function properly outside this frame. This was the point where I found out that we Bulgarians have very high spiritual freedom and thinking which is almost nowhere to be found in today's world. Speaking as someone who loves travel and has worked in different EU countries it really is gratifying to return home. Yes, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Italy... They're all nice places and the work there pays well, but you will always be a foreigner there. Even if you prove yourself as a capable and smart person, they will always look at you as a dirty gypsy with no culture and no intelligence. The one from the poor country that either no one's heard of or they've heard only bad stuff about. Things here are terrible, but the roads aren't paved in gold elsewhere... The people of Western Europe have also suffered a lot of hardships, but they didn't simply run away from home because of that. They changed their situation. And though it won't be easy, we can do the same

Living in Bulgaria is a brutal daily uphill battle if you like order or are trying to create some order and prosperity in your life. Living abroad is no walk in the park either, but you don't have to face half of the BS that you do back home.. I've practiced my profession (building eng and architecture) in both western Europe and back home in Bulgaria and would routinely have to argue with "experts" in Bulgaria just because "this is how we have always done things here". Quality or doing anything "the right way" is nobody's concern. Everyone is trying to make a quick buck and screw someone else over in the process. As for corruption and nepotism .. It's omnipresent. Not that it doesn't exist in western Europe- oh, it's there! But it's not starting at the bottom level and it's not as obvious. Bulgaria has a lot of beautiful potential, but young people can't live on potential and hope for a better future alone, they need to be able to create real change for the better and have at least the feeling of agency in their lives. This is however a different can of worms in itself... Sofia is not Bulgaria. What you see in this video is the promised land of the capital city. And people from the capital don't want to see the gruesome reality: everything between Sofia and the coast is turning into a desert. And a couple of young people coming back to live in the city won't change much. And since I've already made this post this long I'll let you know what the real problem is here(in my humble opinion and experience). One word. "Communism". The constant glorification of communism in the old generations is the biggest unspoken problem here. I've heard it all: Back in the day the communists sprayed the mosquitoes in summer/ would clean the beach/ would sweep the streets up to your doorstep early in the morning/ nobody would be without a home/everyone would get payed(the same) /would have food on the table.. Not saying it's a bad thing, but people have been stripped of their desire to actively change and contribute to their environment! Someone always did it for them. All they had to do is file a report to the manicipalty or police.. And this stuff is the pure poison. The only "solution" I see here is for these generations to perish and MAYBE, just maybe, the generations after that would be able to undo some of the damage and create a more prosperous society than the one we currently have. If that is the hill you want to die on, that's your own personal choice. I don't see any change happening in my lifetime.

Good clip. Here are my 5 cents. Think of the World as a game called Diablo 2... Those of you who aren`t familiar with it`s mechanics I'd give a short tl.dr. to get you up to speed. So it`s a role playing game where you progress your character trough story line via quests... They lead you trough 5 Major City hubs with their surrounding areas where you gain your experience for character development and obtain valuable items for even further improving it`s prowess. Now... why did I type all of this (it will require a bit more game mechanics to further explain but we will get there) Imagine that Entire Countries are Diablo 2 Cities... (not for example towns within Bulgaria itself... like Burgas first city, Varna 2nd, Plovdiv 3rd and Sofia 4th, we get to have no 5th one like Diablo 2 got in it`s first, last and only expansion :P) Bulgaria is the First City... where your character get to spawn within the game and accumulate it`s first powers ... Next up we have France 2nd city, Germany 3rd City, UK, 4th City, USA 5th City... The point of this being is (here comes the 2nd portion of Diablo 2 progress mechanics) Every City scales as it`s difficulty of areas as it`s >rewards< ... more experience, higher quality items, etc. Once you move to the next city, the previous one becomes sort of mechanically meaningless because it`s progress cap of your character (you) will never be the same there. My entire point is it`s kind of the same with all those returning Immigrants is kind of the same. They failed one reason or to keep up with wherever they once managed to reach to and now they are coming back to environment where no matter how much "gameplay" (life) they perform their growth in level (accumulation of experience) and quality of items will never be equal to those making their gains in cities of higher tier. Kind of Sad but it is as it is. I mean I theoretically do not have goose fluff for brain, I do know Bulgaria will never be adequate western European country equivalent and expecting miracles is unrealistic... I am just saying. (And btw this is the one text where I invested the effort to google all the underlined words in the text, otherwise my spelling is horrible)(The only word this text disapprove of is Burgas :P)

More Greeks pensioners and people are coming here because it's slightly easier to live here than it is in Greece nowadays. The climate also is better here and the country is absolutely beautiful. We as a nation have to accept and learn how to live with all other nationals who started to settle down in Bulgaria. So many people are coming to live here, we can't stop that process. @@i.3683 How to you expect progress to be made? Everyone minding their own thing, after all we live in a society, the modern morality is practically none in the west and everything is money and when you see that you gona be a lone wolf in this fight might as well be like the rest. That is problematic thinking which led to here. In the end you have to get dirty to get something after it or if you have kids at least they to live in a better country.
