Hi! I reviewed the video and will be watching the entire film later. Beautiful country, but some of the track needs weed control, don't you think ? :)))) (Please don't take offense) I wish the European Union would stay together for the All can help those countries that benefit from assistance, such as Romania getting funds to upgrade its' track. I do not know if Bulgaria has received anything, but my hope is that it has. I love your class 44's, 45's and 46's and their loveable boxy lines. Electrification reduces carbon output and it is too bad most of America's railways are not electricfied except around Los Angeles and from Washington, D.C up to Boston, Massachusetts. I am pleasantly surprised that an American is interested in a video of the Bulgarian railway. As far as I know, most Americans do not like European Railways nor they are interested in Eastern European countries. I am very glad that not all of you are like this. Hi! Thanks for the nice comment! Of course, many of the railway tracks in Bulgaria are in a very poor condition and needs not only a weed control, but I think - a major renovation! :) The main problem are our politicians - they always told that there is not enough money and also, they don't believe in the rail transport at all. There are money for a highways, which are also important for the economy, but the rail transport is much more important for me, as this is the cheapest land transport. The line from this video is a perfect example for a dying railway line. Despite the fact that this is an international line, the railway traffic is very poor. A couple of years ago a highway was built and the travel with a car or even with a bus became faster than with a train. Now, most of the people prefer to use a car or a bus instead of the train and if the line will not be modernized for a higher speeds, the train one day will loose the battle with the cars, buses and even with the trucks. You will see in the video that the speed of the train is not impressing. There are a few sections only where it is running with a good speed (90-100 km/h (50-60 mph)). Of course, we are getting some funds from the EU for a track renovation and modernization, but these funds are for the main lines, which are part of the international corridors. The regional lines will not see any renovation soon. I'm hoping for this line one day to be modernized for a higher speeds, as it is also an international line, connecting Bulgaria and Greece, but in the next 10 or 20 years I don't think this will happen.

@@IvoRadoev Governments are full of politicians who are, for the most part idiots, though one would be hard pressed to find a bigger idiot and baby then Baby President Trump. As you may surmise, I detest the man and hope he is impeached and removed from office but time will tell!
