I have watched quite a few reactions to this one, and I never noticed a small mistake Indy makes right at the beginning until you commented on it. At the start of the video, Indy says that Bismarck was the largest battleship ever built, and you wondered at that and said you never knew that. Which is because Bismarck is not the largest battleship ever built...but it was at the time it was commissioned in 1940, and it was not surpassed until the Japanese commissioned the Yamato near the end of 1941. Indy definitely should have said "at the time" in his introduction. Bismarck and Tirpitz are still the 3rd largest battleships ever built based on their tonnage, with the Yamato being number one, and the US Iowa class being 2nd on the list. Also, the treaty you were thinking of that had to do with Italy's navy was the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922.

Great reaction...highly entertaining...I look forward to watching more. Your point about Germany being better off building more U-Boats instead of Bismarck and Tirpitz is a good one, and more U-Boats would have definitely given the Allies a lot of problems, especially if Germany had started the war with many more U-Boats. However, Germany had a major issue with fuel, and most likely would not have been able to actually use more than about 100 of those U-Boats at sea at any given time...and we know from what happened in 1942/1943 when Germany was able to keep about 100 U-Boats at sea that it was still not enough for Germany to actually win the tonnage war against the Allies each month. To the British and Americans and Canadians and others fighting in the Battle of the Atlantic, as well as to the people of the British Isles that depended on the supply ships, more U-Boats would have felt a lot more like the Allies were "losing" the war...but at most it would have extended the war a bit, it could not give Germany the win.

There are a few songs that I think you would enjoy. They are among my favorites. These include The Last Stand, The Last Battle, Hearts of Iron, No Bullets Fly (animated story version), Carolus Rex, and Lion from the North. Including the Sabaton History videos about the songs. There are many more very good songs but I think that is enough recommendations from me for now. lol Always just a suggestion going forward. When studying History I find that it is better to try to look at history from the subjects perspective at the time. So take Bismarck for example. Instead of saying why didn't they build more submarines instead of the ship, ask instead "why DID they build Bismarck?" Hindsight is 20/20 after all. Also keep in mind that in 1935 the Germans didn't know what would happen in 1940/41. So the decision to build Bismarck at the time was based on what they knew at the time. In the end things didn't work out like they had hoped but they couldn't know that. Anyway, I really appreciate your reactions. Please keep going!

I absolutely agree with you, hindsight is definitely a thing I try to avoid. The point I was trying to make (maybe I didn't do it well) is that the Nazis were not thinking rationally about any of these things because they looked at everything from a racial perspective. So, the notion that Britain, being Aryan, wouldn't fight them is absolutely baseless. However, this misguided belief did lead them to prioritize the construction of battleships like the Bismarck over more suitable options like submarines to oppose the British. I believe you don't need hindsight to see the flaws in that approach. But again, thats just my thinking. Thanks for the recommendations. I will definitely pick one of them for the next video!

hind-sight is always you know what. its a case of "WHAT IF"' 's, things check, how about improving the PZ IV? what would've been if just 1/4 of materials went to the submarine section, not the bismarck? poor devensive deceisions, and you're fighting a 3-front-war
