While I personally never had any of the Kenner Aliens action figures as a child, my older brother did. And he had every single one of them that saw release in the UK. I know when most people say "Oh I had them all!" it's rare that they actually did, especially with a long running line like say 'Transformers' or 'G.I.JOE', but my brother was (and still is) such a huge Alien fan that when the Kenner toyline was announced in the UK 'Aliens' comic, he started saving up his paperround money so he could get some when they were released and he continued to buy them up until the final few saw release in early 1996. One thing about the UK releases I clearly remember was that they didn't come with the mini comics. There was a promotion that included 3D cardboard bases that could connect together, but those came at a time when my brother had all the figures already and he didn't think it justified buying more of the same figure. I remember him getting the Powerloader and the Stinger XT-37 vehicles, along with a Scorpion Alien, the Bull Alien, Lt. Ripley and Cpl. Hicks in his first purchase back in 1993 and from then on every week that went by saw a new addition until he had all of the first wave. I remember for his birthday in 1993 that I got him the Bishop action figure. As more figures ended up in the collection, the bigger the battles were. I'd play with them when he would let me (always had to be careful with them) and he would always display them in epic battles on the shelf. Sometimes he'd even let me display them The Gorilla Alien was one he desperately wanted as during the first wave of figures it was advertised on the cardback and in catalogues but for some reason had "NOT AVAILABLE IN THE UK" printed underneath it. I think by the time the second wave was hitting toy stores it was then available. I remember my older sister had taken me out to a toystore to pick up something and I couldn't decide on what to get and while looking at the Aliens line (because it was such a cool line) I spotted the Gorilla Alien. I wanted to get it to give it to my brother but my sister wouldn't allow it. My brother was always cool to me randomly getting me things that I wanted to return the favor but she put a stop to that. But I told my brother I had seen it in that store and within a few days the Gorilla Alien joined his xenomorphs. I think my biggest contribution to his collection came when the 3rd wave was released over here. The 3rd wave included the new Marines O'Malley, Hudson and Vasquez, the three that never saw release in America in the original line. I had gone to the local Woolsworth store after school to kill time and was browsing the toys when I spotted O'Malley. At first I didn't think much too it, mainly because he was a Marine not from the movie, so I thought "I'll tell my brother when I get home" but then I realised that if there was an O'Malley, maybe there was a Hudson and Vasquez too. I flicked through them and found Hudson, who was my brothers favourite character. Realising the shop would be shutting soon, I ran out the store, got home, ran up the stairs to our room to see him in the middle of an Aliens battle and clearly remember saying "... HUDSON! HUDSON IN WOOLSWORTH! Quick! There's that other guy too! But they have Hudson!" He didn't say anything, just looking at me like I told him he just won the lottery. He grabbed his jacket and wallet and I remember looking out the window to see him running to the store. I came back about 15 minutes later with O'Malley and Hudson and he brought me back something to as a thanks. Those two came off the blister packs and Hudson and O'Malley joined the battle as reinforcements. But to top it off, a few days later I went back to see if Vasquez was there. No such luck but I decided to see if they had one in the back. I asked and a few minutes later the work brought one out! He said it was the only one too. Only problem was... No money. So again, ran home, went up to my brother and said "You're not going to believe this, but there's a Vasquez in Woolsworth! It's the only one too!" Again, he wasted no time and was out of there. I had to go with him this time because I didn't want someone else to get it (especially because a few of my friends were collecting Aliens too) so I had actually hidden it in the store and it was still there when we arrived. I never saw another Vasquez in a toystore during the lines original run and as we all know, she's become one of the most valuable figures in the line. By the time 1995 rolled around, he was still collecting them, and it was the time of the Predator line too. He collected the Aliens by not the Predator line, although I actually picked up a couple because I actually liked the Predator movies a lot as a kid (and still do) and with 1996 I remember the last releases he got were the King Alien and the Electronic Swarm Alien. By that time he had every single Aliens action figure and vehicle Kenner had produced, the sole exception being the Queen Hive playset as it was never released to toystores in the UK. He saw one at a speciality store once, but couldn't justify the whopping £75 price tag on it. When it comes to the Kay-Bee Toys repaints in 1996 and their Aliens Hive Wars line in 1998, they weren't released in the UK so he never bought them. He knew of the repaints but decided against picking them up from speciality stores because he already had the originals and by 1998 he didn't pay any attention to them at that point.I think especially at that point you had the likes of McFarlane Toys putting out amazing works like the Movie Maniacs line with high levels of detail and the Hive Wars figures looked so bad by comparsion. Plus by late 1995 he wasn't really playing with the collection any more. It was more buying a new release to add to the display. He still has them all safely stored away and a few years ago I started picking up figures for myself because of the memories. I've got the Stinger and the Hovertread vehicles along with Cpl. Hicks and picked up the Kay-Bee versions of the Bull Alien and the Gorilla Alien. I've also got the mailaway Ambush Predator figure (one I always wanted as a kid because of the invisible gimmick) and picked up the a few Hive Wars figures too. I have loose versions of both the Hive Warrior and Acid Aliens and a sealed Hive Wars Cpl. Hicks, who will remained sealed because it's just too over the top and beefy for me to take him seriously as a Marine. And with the release of the Neca Kenner figures I've managed to get a long of the Gorilla and the Mantis Alien. I showed my brother the Neca Kenner ones and he was impressed with the level of detail in them. They certainly bring back memories of the 90s playing with those figures and having epic battles and I hope Neca do more down the line too.

Thank you SO much for these videos! I've relived so many awesome memories watching them. My parents didn't restrict what I could watch as a kid, so I saw "Alien" by the time I was 5 and was obsessed with the series from that point on. I have this great memory of being at a Japanese department store in LA when I was 10, and one of the toy stores had this incredibly real looking Facehugger hanging from the ceiling. I wanted it so, so bad, and my mom was willing to buy it for me, but the owner wouldn't sell it because it was a store decoration. :( I had most of the Kenner toys, but they've been lost over the past 18 years and multiple moves. The bull and mantis variants were my favorite.

I had an "Another Universe" store with a life size Predator out front at my mall. It had all the Aliens stuff in there...so cool but parents thought it was too scary for me. Probably a good call. They got me Exo Squad stuff instead which I loved.

I vaguely remember the commercial for the original 18" action figure that didn't go over too well. And there was an older kid at school that had the egg from the film trailer. Seems there was a version sold that contained a small jigsaw puzzle of the xenomorph. I remember being creeped out just by that egg itself. But those large eggs weren't that uncommon at the time because there was a brand of women's pantyhose that came in plastic eggs that were the same size. Which by the way were used by the miniature modelers that made the Y-Wings for Star Wars.

I had the snake alien when I was a kid. Those Kenner action figures were pretty expensive here in Aus and we weren't very well off when I was growing up, so when my dad took me down to the toys'r'us that day and said "pick which one you like" I was on cloud 9. Not entirely sure what happened to that alien toy, but I did take it with me everywhere for a good year. Happy days.

Personally I like this version of the Alien coming out of a Bull (or Ox if you will). There's a huge discussion weather the Alien in Alien 3 came from a Dog or an Ox. Given the fact that the Xenomorph grows significantly larger than its host, we'd expect that Xeno to be far larger than a Human Xenomorph, and more "bulkier", which is what see here. However the Xenomorph see on Alien 3 is somewhat smaller than the Human Xenomorph, thinner and more agile. So I believe that it makes a lot more sense it coming from a Dog than from an Ox.

Bull, Mantis, Scorpion, Warrior/Drone, Crab, Gorilla, Cobra, Flying Queen, that smaller more shoddy Alien Queen with the tongue that shot out when you compressed an air bubble behind her head, the bigger (gorgeous toy) Queen Mother that came with the egg-laying sack and maybe a few others I'm not remembering. Oh, and I just bought (RED!) "xenomorph warrior" from the Aliens Genocide series at a con last year. Then I saw the matching red queen at a comic book store in Boston, but didn't buy it! Ahh, what a great childhood it was. haha

I had the bull alien as a kid, bought one recently. Thr one I had, I used the ramming feature agao t the marine stinger vehicle a bit too many times. The head split in half, but could still be popped together and played with.

It's hilarious how in the 90s that these movies were not meant for kids, but they advertised the toys to us. I had a LOT of the Alien toyline. I even had the repaints. They're in a box in my closet and I remember having a lot of good play time with them. I would set up pillows and blankets in a way to make them into caves with the Xenomorphs lined in different ways, have the characters go down through the cave to fight each one. Now, as I am older, I want to collect the statues and other figurines.

The early 90's, what a great time to be a kid, G.I. Joe released a set of figures called "Mega-Marines" with Play-doh molded armor so what better enemy than Aliens toys. After reading Nightmare Asylum I got the idea to fit the gun that came with the G.I. Joes into the scorpion aliens hand, long story short, many awesome battles where held in my back yard. Thanx for making me remeber the good memories.

My dad travelled to Reading from London just to get me Vasquez for my birthday but my crowning glory was a trip to Florida where I picked up the huge EVAC Fighter spaceship for 6 dollars in a going-out-of-business toystore. I purchased my Kenner Aliens toys when I was young at a garage sale. I bought the flying queen, scorpion alien, gorilla alien and queen facehugger, along with a couple of the mini comics and marine weaponry. The seller also had a bull alien but foolish young me decided not to buy this one because I thought it looked silly and that a xenomorph shouldn't have horns. I immediately regretted this decision and tried to purchase it separately but the lady didn't let me. I still regret to this day as I now love this xenomorph design.

I had a night panther alien. He was a repaint of the panther alien. Instead of being White and amber like the original, this one was black with red tiger stripes and a silver dome peice. I didn’t like the color variation so I took some spray paint and painted it black. The scorpion however was my favourite. I left that one alone because it looked most film accurate, next to big chap featured in the AVP two pack toy line.

I had the scorpion alien, which came with a facehugger. And I had a rhino alien, similar to the bull one. The rhino had a leg that would pop off occasionally though, which was a shame. I also had two of the predators. Can't remember which ones though. Actually, I still have them all, in the original plastic but without the boxes in a box in the basement.

This comic was the last of the first wave, before they decided to continue the series. Which at that time, was Ripley, bishop, hicks, drake, & apone, followed by the scorpion, gorilla, bull, and queen alien. Not exactly great for sales lol. So the line was expanded to include the snake, giant hugger, mantis, rhino and flying queen aliens (oh, and that arrogant jerk ATAX lol, though he never got his own comic, despite being heavily featured after issue 8)

I'm confused, if the bull xenomorph is a result of a bull host, then how exactly does that work? We know Ox hosts result in plain old runners, so why should ordinary cattle be any different, if anything the Ox would be more likely to have the horns. perhaps it has to be a male (bull) host but I doubt the farmers have that many bulls, knowing farmers, not to mention most Oxen both male and females have horns, idk, this just doesn't make sense to me ^^" Awesome video tho

Like they hunt rhinos in Africa, you cut them off... I had the photo novel, the musical score by Goldsmith, and the 12 inch figure... Had the removeable head cover.. lever that shot the teeth out. Funny thing, the teeth would pop out, and sag down ward, so I took them out. Then my girl friend broke his right arm off, revealing the strand of rubber that connected the appendages.The paint on his head under the dome, glowed in the dark.I had sat him on my shelf, for years. That photo novel had some great stills near the end, of Ellen Ripley in the closet..if you know what I mean. It is definitely got one of the greatest musical scores ever too.

Hey! Xenomorph reproductive cycles can't be done twice to one host, cause the chestburster (it's in the name) literally explodes from the chest of the host, killing it.

Imagine if the cartoon actually took off! Like G.I.Joe meets H.R. Geiger. I did paint up a few things like paint ripley's top from red to grey. I also gave bishop the hair he was due with a little black marker.

I still have all of my Aliens figures, how strange t was to be able to get toys of such a mature subject. But then I also had Robocop and Terminator 2 toys so I guess it was more acceptable back then!
