You're right... You can't go wrong with Bulleit whether it's the bourbon or the rye. It's good whiskey at a decent price...
@foodquig8 жыл бұрын
The rye is admittedly a bit harder to find than the bourbon here too, but I think it's because it sells out faster...

This was my first Bourbon and I loved it! Gone back to it a few times. Great for the price where I am, and it makes very good cocktails too 🥃

It's definitely a good solid bourbon for lots of occasions

@@NoNonsenseWhisky For sure! Right now I've just received a bottle of Knob Creek, new very cool bottle design WITH the 9 year old age statement, it's back!

Great review. I was really happy that you mention it only clicked after time had passed. Too often people don't allow whisky time to "click." I agree with your assessment. This is a fine bourbon for the money! Thanks...and keep the reviews comin'.

Bulleit Bourbon is an excellent everyday bourbon and is a nice mixer, especially with ginger beer. I recommend FourRoses Single Barrel, but not as a mixer. Great review!

Once I moved up to Bulleit Bourbon from the likes of JD and Jim Beam I never looked back. Sure, those can be a fair bit cheaper, but it really is worth spending that little bit more on this in my opinion. It's also been as low as £16.50 this year on Amazon, which is an absolute steal for this. Am very curious to try their 95 Rye at some point to see how it compares to Bulleit Bourbon. Not really sure how well that'll go down or if I need to venture into cocktail making to get the most out of a Rye.
@joeboo19836 жыл бұрын
Agree Rye is hard at first it really favours oxidation and gets better with airing. I think when your into Bourbons it’s hard getting round not been hit with the sweetness but once you give Rye a chance the spice and fruits with the dryness become very nice and it’s pretty addictive.

The extra rye makes it spicy. The othe diageo woodford reserve is the opposite. Low spice plenty vanilla and carmel. Two great bourbons cheaply priced.

I like JB Double Oaked, ($17 USA) but my first try at this Bulliet Bourbon ($9.00 for 200ml) was a real Eye opener. Such a nice spice. And the finish is pleasant, not nasty as some. I started small because I wanted to taste it before jumping in to the 750 ml. And my first impression is I really enjoy it and will def. buy again. Thx for the review. 😎

I got into single maly whiskies around 7 months ago. Tried many Scotches (my fave is Laphroaig Quarter Cask so far) and a few Irishes (my fave is Bushmills 10 so far). Thought I'd give this a go tonight on a whim and snagged a bottle on Amazon for £22 delivered. Looking forward to try it...

This is the first Bourbon I liked (bought to make old fashions with and changed to drinking by itself.) Now my fave is Jim Beams Devils cut. Did not really like Buffalo Trace apart from in cocktails. Look forward to other Bourbon suggestions
@Nobbyongoogle6 жыл бұрын
For me the difference between this and a Jim Beam Double oak is the same as the difference between a hot curry and a mild one. The hot curry (bulliet) is an enjoyable challenge that demands attention when the mild one (Double Oak) can be enjoyed for the flavour while you think about other things. Both so very different yet both very good in their respective ways. As you say, try different bourbons because they don’t taste alike.

My go to in the £20-27 bracket. Like to get it on offer at £20-23 usually on offer some where. Pretty smooth, vanilla fruit and that nice spicey rye kick is addictive. Poor Australia must suck at 40percent.

JD is technically/legally not Bourbon (Tennessee Whiskey). Bulleit 10 year is a decent upgrade if you run across it. FWIW Bulleit Bourbon is Four Roses juice. Cheers and Merry Christmas
@sgt.pepper42747 жыл бұрын
LOL. Apparently, it doesn't matter whether you're in the UK or the States, JD is rammed down your throat (figuratively speaking); and it's been that way for decades in America. Personally, I can't stand the stuff and mixing it with coke, only makes it tolerable. I think half the people here in America can't stand it, but it was always cool as a young lad to order a shot of JD at the bar. Anyway, Bulleit is a really good cheap bourbon in the States and is readily available for about $20-25 dollars. cheers! Oh and, Merry Christmas... a year later.:)

Bulliet sources all their whiskies from other distilleries. They really an independent bottler with lots of marketing. Not bad for the prices but their is better out there.

You say two small, vague descriptions and then say, "I dont want to go into it anymore". Why the fuck am I watching your videos/reviews if you're literally not going to go into what it tastes like? :/ And fruity is the predominant flavor? I get people have their own palates and all that, but not one mention of caramel or toffee or vanilla or other VERY blatant flavors from a modest but quality bourbon like this? Ok man. I'm sorry to be harsh, but you've got to do much better than this.
@NoNonsenseWhisky6 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the feedback. And thanks for checking out the channel in the first place. This video was around two years ago and, I hope at least, I've improved somewhat since then. To be fair, I still don't go heavy into tasting notes, that's not my MO. It's more the value once all the BS is stripped away. Anyway, hopefully you'll check out some of my newer vids, and if you're still not on board then all I can say is thanks for giving this small channel a shot!
