you are supposed to measure center to center of the holes you make your groups seem bigger than they are its from where the pullet tip hits the paper so center to center military style

It sounds like you didn't watch the entire video. If you go to the eight minute mark, you will see that I measure a bullet in my caliper and then I zero it out. That way when you measure from edge to edge, by subtracting the diameter of the bullet That actually gives you a measurement from the center to Center. I appreciate you watching . I hope you will subscribe. Thank you

My rifle likes the BTHP better of those two for hand loading. But I didn’t realize they have a 75 ELDM with a significantly higher BC. So I’m going to try it. The odd thing is they don’t make ammo with that bullet. I’m guessing the 73 works better in their Superformance load. Why there’s even such a huge BC difference is weird. Seems like the 73 would be odd man out being only slightly better BC than the 75 BTHP. I like having factory set aside for a match in case I get in a bind and I’ll say that 73 Super load is the lowest SD of any factory ammo I’ve ever tried. Would love to know ow what cocktail they use for that!

@@john1349 hi John. The problem with the 75ELDM is the OAL when loaded is 2.39 inches, and you must have a longer magazine for that. It will not fit a standard AR magazine. Thanks for watching. And thanks for the input.

@@john1349 also, I just ran a test this week comparing the 52ELDM with the 52BTHP, and the BTHP outperformed the ELDM. I'll be sharing that video soon.

I never get anything with a tip. Even though they said to have fixed the problem of the tip deforming during the flight I still prefer pointing the BTHP than using the ELD

@@philipng6598 i've had mixed results with both. On the 52 grain, the BTHP seems to work better for me. On the 73-75 grain, the ELD match works better for me. also, Hornady is producing a new bullet that has a flattened tip. thanks for watching.

I'm pretty sure I've used that 2520 before. I think you're right also. I do believe it shot pretty well in my rifle.

Appreciate the comparison. I have a box of each factory loads. BTW I think Hornady claims better accuracy from the ELD over the BTHP, and your test shows that result. Do you know what the powder charge is for the factory loadings? PS - I haven't tested them yet at the range so can't provide ES or 4/5. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know what the factory loads are. I don't know the powder, or the charge weight. I do know that these work well for me. I really appreciate your watching. Thanks.

@@EverydayReloadingandShooting okay thanks. My research has dug up that some are trying the Hodgdon IMR 8208XBR at a load of around 23.3 to 23.5gr. with 73gr Berger ELDs. I suspect with the 73gr - 75gr VLDs, BTHPs the powder charge would be close. One guy was getting 73gr shot .201 moa at 23.3gr; .196moa at 23.5gr but different rifle of course. Food for thought.

.201 is amazing. I really appreciate it cacinaz. I don’t have that powder, but I would be glad to look into it. And the Berger 73VLD. I’ve shot the 140 VLD in 6.5 Creed. It shot well. Eric Cortina recommends them. I honestly don’t know what my Ruger American is capable of. There are some loads where I can get .5 inch groups sometimes, but I don’t know how much more I can get out of that particular firearm. The Sako 6.5 Creedmoor was supposed to be an upgrade, but the Ruger shoots about as well as the Sako. I really appreciate the interaction on my videos. Thanks for watching, and I mean it. What’s your name?

@@EverydayReloadingandShooting Cody, Scottsdale, AZ. I don't reload yet but have just about what I need to start. Your videos have been very helpful. Lots of recipes out there but components are expensive and hard to find. Recently built a 223 Wylde from Crown Ridge Barrel Works - a little known shop with great service and pricing. Got a Shilen Sendero/Varmint contour, 22" threaded 7.5T, 4 groove ratchet rifling SS. TT Special trigger set a 1 lb. The action is from Mack Brothers. Shot 0.3" groups - 5 shots - with Federal 73gr Bergers. But I am still experimenting with different factory loads. UR also did a short video on the Winchester Staball Match powder. I can't find VV N140, so the 8208 and the Winchester might be a good start. I don't hunt much anymore so precision and paper punching are my gig. I have a AR15 but we can agree that the bolt rifles are more accurate. And, yes, 6.5cm is my next project. I am looking at a Savage Ridge Warrior - 24" heavy SS barreled action, adjustable trigger, and aluminum chassis in the stock. Just don't tell my wife LOL.

Hi Cody. That sounds like a really sweet rifle. Have you tried precisionreloading.com or midwayusa.com? That’s where most of my components come from, also Bass Pro and academy sports. Reloading is a really fun hobby. Pretty addictive. Are you on Facebook? If so, check out a group called All Things Reloading. There’s a lot of really helpful information out there. You can also post photos of your groups. I’d love to see some of those pictures. Take care brother.
