Since i was young i always felt like i was "linked" to every bfmv songs...and i felt somehow close to matt' and now i understand why this band is so important to me. I went through the same shit...breaking up with my beloved. I remember listening Venom with her in bed....and a week after the release ...we were done....since then i was struggling so much...so hard just to get by....and now i finally see light again.... People comparing this to Shadow Moses...the only things that reassemble that song are the 0-0-0 strumming pattern at the beginning (Which is a perfectly common metalcore strumming pattern that you could find in any other core band other than BMTH) and the drum beat at the first verse...but not even the lyrics or the melody reassemble in any way...and after that, the song is completely different... wtf are you all talking about...
@KyleGranthamYTC8 жыл бұрын
Well the way they executed the palm muted was incredibly similar to Shadow Moses. If that pattern was all that common, then there would be more associations with that pattern and other bands in the comments. Plus there is more to this song that bares similarities to Shadow Moses than just palm muted section. The structure, the pacing, the "riff" and lack of guitar solo that BFMV is known for. Even the music video seems to have been recorded in a similar fashion while using the same effect as the Shadow Moses music video. This is either heavily influenced by Shadow Moses, or there are so many coincidences that it just seems unbelievable. Still a great song regardless.
@ThallFather8 жыл бұрын
Kyle Grantham you do realize that Bullet hasn't put a solo in every single song they have, right? Not arguing the similarity in the beginning riff. I thought the same lol.
@KyleGranthamYTC8 жыл бұрын
Trent Witt, While that may be true, I was more so referring to their overall sound that defines Bullet For My Valentine. Such as melodic licks and guitar solos. While I do not listen to these guys as much as I use to, but this song seems to stray far away from anything they have done before, which makes these (what I assume) "coincidences" more obvious. Bullet For My Valentine have had other song(s) that sound similar to song preformed by other bands (Waking The Demon vs Slayer for example), but the coincidence was not as strong because Bullet still maintained their original sound.

+xQaruka That quote from the Iron Maiden song Prisoner, was audio taken from a classic movie. I don't remember the name of the movie. But the plot was people get drugged and taken to a secret island and are named after numbers. There is much more to the plot, but i unfortunately haven't watched it yet.

@andrewbray51048 жыл бұрын
You do realize they've always been metalcore. SAF and The Poison were more directed towards a targeted audience of teens. They've never really been really thrash metal or really been that "metal" of a band. I remember when curses dropped when I was in 10th grade even then they were considered mediocre compared to kse, or shadowsfall or the showdown. I never was really big into that early 2000s metalcore sound.
