If that's a '69, it's got a '65-66 body with 1300cc trim (unique for '66) on trunk lid.. and '65-66 interior, and hub caps from '65 or older. The salesman said it was converted from 6 volts to 12 volts, but all VW from '67+ were already 12-volt. Looks nice, though!

Is nice to see a Brazilian beetle in the US. But, you have to explain that, because no one knows that timeline here is different. Until 70, BR beetle is almost the same that 64 is for you.
I love those things. My friend had one back in 65. One day, my face met the windshield in a head on collision. The front was completely demolished. I wonder where the gas tank went. No seat belts. I don’t know how we made it thru???
Not sure about the year here. The salesman said it had european headlights, but with that bumper, it looks before 67, 69 had the single blade bumper with the flat bracket, and the dash is metal. And I can't remember when the fuel tiller went on the passenger quarter pane, and the seatbelts look pre-68. I'm not a fan of wide walls on the tires, but these look acceptable. The body trim is definitely not '69. I''m sure it's a typo, but it looks awesome. I'd take it for the price of a '69. Just a beautiful bug.

It's a 1967 model... They changed both front and back light from 68.

unless whoever restored it replaced the front and rear aprons to the earlier model, same with all fenders, hood and deck lid, earlier bumpers, and welded in /cover the fuel door on a 69 and some more welding on the dash, its not a 69, though that big front turn signal might be 69 lol. If i had to guess, im thinking 65-66 model

It is a brazilian model, we dont have the bigger windows of 65 US beetle and the 64 model like(with some updates)was sold until 1970.

Brazilian 1969 perhaps? It's a clone of the German 1965 with a 12 v system

My first car was a full Resto.-.modded ‘69 I did myself. 25 years later and it’s still my favorite car I’ve ever owned. Yeah he big in this video either is not a ‘69 or it’s had numerous pre-1969 mods! (Like the dash board…)

That is a Brazilian beetle, is other time line!!

If that's a 1969 it's not a USA 1969. Those made for the European market looked like this and the 1300cc engine was standard.

And how much is the restoration

Not sure but they didn't finishi clipping in the drivers side door card 🙄

Converted to a 12 volt system?? '69 VW already had a 12 volt system. I think everything from '66 or '67 had 12 volts. '69 VW came with a 1500cc motor, not 1300. I think you have a 1966, NOT a 1969.

12 volts since 1968, also in the Brazilian cars...

Yeah, not a '69, but still nice.

Anyone noticed a cute pom pom hanging on the camera inside this beautiful bug :)
Could be a Brazilian made 1969 car? They still used earlier components and body panels at that time. That's my guess as that explains the different size of windscreen and side windows

No. This is not a 69. This guy doesn’t know anything about VWs.
@jeffrahmeyer4 жыл бұрын
@@njpoxman If it was built in Brazil (+ some other countries that hosted VW plants) then yes, they continued the pre-67 models into the early 70's there, weird I know, but I just recently learned this myself.

The brazilian production still with the up to 1964 small side windows and front windshiel up to ... 1996! The rear window, was changed to the 1965 german size, in the midle of 1966...
