Matt Bomer's performance is nothing short of immaculate in this but Jonny Bailey's brittle vulnerability as Tim has my whole heart, sketchy Mid-Atlantic accent and all.

Lmao I live. Not the “sketchy mid-Atlantic” twang 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s a very hard thing to imitate

The scene of Hawk making Tim write the letter to Mary and then basically Hawk declaring his love for Tim with those words and Tim understanding what Hawk is really saying - it's heartbreaking. Especially when Tim then goes on to accuse Hawk of only keeping him around for the sex. Hawk looks so hurt in that moment. This show will break me 🥺

"That already had the emotional intensity of a finale" YEP. this episode feels like a big warning that this show is going to WRECK us

Hawk's little hurt face when Tim says he'd stay for just sex...
@helentee9863 Жыл бұрын
Tim said.... and l could stay for another hour for sex. Meaning that's all that you want me around for.💀 Straight after a (rather backhanded) declaration of affection/love from Hawkins 😑

This show is scratching like 50 different itches rn it's CRAZY I'm not used to getting everything I want from a show. Period piece? Queer? Politics? History? Prestige show woth good writing and high production value? Takes place where I live? Thematically and politically relevant? Angst? Queer speakeasies with drag kings and queens singing gorgeous duets? Good acting? A character who is a gay black man and a journalist? Also the cast is smoking hot? I honestly can't believe it

Rewatched Episode 2. Hawk Fuller is the gay brother we never knew Don Draper had. When he played back the film of the Rosenberg protests it immediately called to mind the Kodak carousel episode of “Mad Men.”

I would like to recommend a very good film for you to watch, the name is "The Normal Heart". I don't know if you've seen it but this film is exciting and very interesting. It talks about the lives of queer people in the 80s in NY at the beginning of the AIDS crisis and talks a little more about this discovery and the struggle of these people to be seen by the government that at the time ignored the emergency situation

Seen it, LOVED it! Fellow Travelers is like a hybrid of Normal Heart and My Policeman in a lot of ways, and both of those were stellar.

Love your reactions, I hope you're going keep posting the rest of the season. Also, I'd like to recommend a film for you to watch, which is based on real life events. It's called Pride (2014), my absolute favourite movie ever!

If I knew absolutely nothing about this show you could just show me this opening title sequence and you’d have my full attention. As horrible as it would feel to go through with it (my Black Sails loving self reared up with a vengeance at the phrase apologize for having no shame), it’s really amusing to watch Hawk and his mother talk about working his dying father to get him back into the will like it’s a business deal. Speaking of feeling horrible, I think an actual bullet would’ve felt better than that last scene with Tim.
