I purchased a Bergara and a Tikka at the same time. Bergara is a 22-250 and Tikka is a 6.5 Creedmoor. In my humble opinion, shooting both rifles side by side all summer long, although not totally apples to apples, the Bergara is more superior in almost every category, especially accuracy at long range 200 yards and beyond.
@Bullets4Bucks3 жыл бұрын
I have had some bergaras shoot better and some tikkas shoot better probably depends on each individual gun and more importantly the ammo.
@adamelam63852 жыл бұрын
That's not my experience at all. I had a B14 Hunter and a TIKKA T3x. I could never SUB moa with the B14. 1.5 is the best I could get. I bought a Tikka and literally shot a .75 group with Barnes TTSX 120's literally the first time I ever shot it. I know Bergara makes a nice rifle but the one I had didn't shoot as well as my Howa 1500.

I sold my Begara as it was just too heavy. Bought a tikka. Another thing I didn’t like on the Begara was the bolt was very loose, sloppy before putting round in chamber or before making ready to dry fire. The only way to stop this was the have bolt “cocked”, to firing position. I feel Begara more a long range, bench, prone position shooter. Like the threaded barrel. I did like the trigger.

Thanks for the feedback. Mine doesn't feel sloppy to me but the qc was questionable for a long time so who knows.

I prefer the Bergara in terms of look, the remington 700 base and the action. I have a B14 in 300 Win Mag but it's the newer model with a fluted bolt. Honestly with a magnum caliber, I prefer the Bergara as it seems more sturdy as well as being slightly heavier helps with recoil. Great review, either case Bergara for me hands down!

I had the choice in the gun store between the B-14 ridge and the tikka that was quite pretty with a fancy wood stock. I ended up going with the 308 B-14 because of caliber. Honestly I love it. Works great, feeds great. Shoots tight groups, feels solid.

Bergara is more bang for you buck on most models when contrasting the most comparable models between the companies. You have to step up a model and pay several hundred more $$ on a Tikka to match what you get on a Bergara. Bergara = better stock, better barrel, more adjustable stock, very accurate, better recoil pad, and overall more quality bang for your buck. Tikka = slightly better bolt, a buttery smooth action, lighter weight overall, also very accurate, and a very fun and dependable gun to shoot that everyone seems to love. All in all, I’ve preferred the Bergara when I made the comparison between a Tikka T3X Varmit vs the Bergara B14 HMR to set up for a coyote hunting rig. Both are great guns, and I had to go back and forth for a while before making the decision.

Nice video. FYI, all Tikka's use the same action length (long/magnum) with a different bolt stop for long and sort cartages so they can accommodate 308/30-06 and with a different bolt face, they can accommodate the 7mm mag/300 win mag. The T2x has the aluminum bolt shroud vs the plastic of the T3.

Took a friend on a range tip with his Tikka Superlite in 38, and my Savage 10 FCP.. I’m used to 2 stage triggers like on Howa’s HACT & Savages Accutrigger. I think the pull is more predictable, but I still jerk shots sometimes. With that said, my friend was still able to shoot sub 1” with his Tikka and he’s a novice. Very curious about Bergara. I bought a Tikka t3x in 22-250 a couple of weeks ago. I could only find 3 different types of ammo to try. Winchester, hornady and some Hungarian brand. They were 50 and 55 grain ammo. The best group I could get at the bench at 100 yards with a 4-16x50 scope was 2 1/2 inches. I thought that was really crappy. So now I am back to looking for another 22-250 rifle that actually does get 1” groups at 100 yards.

@rodgerthackeray79783 жыл бұрын
I don't like the fact that I would have to take the Tikka off safety to be able to unload it. I would prefer a 3 position safety if the bolt locks. 3 position safety has an intermediate option where the trigger cannot be pulled, but you can open the bolt. I would prefer the Bergara over the Tikka because of this, and there is just too many plastic parts on the Tikka. Yes, the Tikka can be upgraded to have metal parts, but but it is not in the same price point after that. I wish Tikka had model with the metal bottom/trigger guard, and bolt shroud. But they would also have to upgrade to a 3 position safty for me to consider it over the Bergara.
