@montelinm4 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of people started playing Yugioh because they didn’t feel like they fit in other places. They were constantly bullied by society and made to feel like an outcast. The community was once great. However lately all I’ve been seeing is people being constantly rude to other players. Treating them like They are an outcast which is what brought them to this game in the first place. Stop dogging on people just because they are a little different and if you recall being treated poorly don’t turn around and do that to other people. It’s quite hypocritical and honestly a lot of you should be ashamed of yourself.

You be yourself within reason. as long as you’re not hurting someone then be whoever the fuck you want to be. People who conform are the problem. They think they have to hide themselves so they can fit in. Live that life long enough and you will go into an extreme depression. Life is only worth living because of the diversity. If everyone was the same what would be the point? You need to start thinking about that before you start talking out your ass.

When I started playing Yu-Gi-Oh, it was because of the show. I use to think the show had the best decks until I started doing my research. I became far better at the game because I had people that helped me improve on my skills, told me which cards were valuable and which weren't and showed me how to check up on these things, and how to just get better at the game overall. Being a bully in Yu-Gi-Oh is nonsensical. No one is going to get better if you don't try to help them and just insult them. I ended up quitting years ago because I had some douchebags tell me I was playing "out of date" decks instead what was "in the now". I don't play the game to follow trends, I play the game to have fun and even challenge myself. I mean imagine being so petty to play the game merely to follow the trends? They might as well be wearing designer boots or the latest fashion as well.

@@StarboyXL9 Well, it's mostly because bullies get bullied themselves. The bullies in your school probably got bullied at home by older siblings or parents. Then they bully the nerds and then the nerds bully the noobs. It's an endless chain of mysery.
@simpletonapollo97234 жыл бұрын
@@StarboyXL9 Not necessarily true. The only reasons why nerds end up bullying is because they were bullied themselves. They have to toughen up and take after the bullies that harmed them rather than standing up for themselves and becoming better people. Low Self-Esteem does that. That doesn't mean all people are garbage, as that is just a dismissal of the problem, it just means we need to help those who are being bullied. I myself was bullied in the pass massively and I use to take on my behavior of the bullies to protect myself. That was the wrong thing to do and I was shown that was self destructive behavior, not to mention it does stunt mental growth. Learning to take responsibility for your emotions is a hard thing to do as a child or even young adult, but once one does then they can pass that on to the next person.
@davidmarshall36834 жыл бұрын
To me this is just a competitive mind set, the only thing wrong in it is assuming his deck must be shit because it's rogue although judging by his lack of overall knowledge it's probably true and the other part is the way they're speaking to him. I remember back in mid-school where I had a close friend that was a fan of yugioh, and collected the cards. I wasn't crazy about the game or the show, but I did have a game on the ps2 called duelist of the roses. It came with the three original magnet warriors, and I didn't think anything of them and just stored them. When my friend was moving away, I decided to give away my pokemon and my three lonely yugioh cards to him, since I wasn't doing anything with them and was growing out of them. The man became estatic when he saw the three vanilla monsters, and said that he opened so many packs to get all three of them for his collection. When he moved, I never saw him again. Over a decade later, I got into the yugioh game through duel links, got sick of its system and went to yugioh pro. Madolches became my main competative deck. I seriously underestimated how complicated and rich the game is, and I quickly fell in love with it. My area is too rural to collect cards and compete, but I can play online completly free. Regreted not collecting at least a few cards so my best friend and I could have one duel before he moved away.

Particularly Crystal beasts and Lair of Darkness. I know everyone thinks I hide behind the virus traps in that deck and they have no idea how right they are. I'm uncomfortable with my own emotions that I try to hide them. Crystal Beasts for the longest time were a reminder of my favorite character in GX, Jesse Anderson. I always thought it was amazing how he came from nowhere, had no one and he treated everyone with a smile. And to see people act like this to another person is sickening. They come to play for fun and to have a good time. Why people feel like they suddenly own the place and talk down to people, and judge their deck makes me outright mad. I always allow people to duel me with whatever deck or cards that they put their heart and soul into. And I will be more than happy to trade or duel. TBH, this is part of why I stopped going to local tournaments regularly. I started playing when I was 14 and I was really bright eyed and upbeat. I didn’t care whether I won or lost a duel, I just liked the idea of meeting people who liked the game and appreciated it the same way I did. My deck was never based around meta formats, so I’d lose a good deal of the time, which didn’t hurt on its own, but normally I’d be told it was because I didn’t invest in cards that were “actually good” or in mats and things like that. And almost everyone always seemed dead inside and didn’t seem to really care for the game as a way to have fun, it was always about winning and trying to make money. Don’t get me wrong, there were some really nice folks who really just loved the game and traded for cards that they liked, which I appreciated. Honestly, I think more people would play if they felt more encouraged and welcome and less intimidated by a little bit of everything going on. That’s just my take.

This is honestly.why I quit the game a year and a half ago. I liked playing some fun decks that I was interested in and I would get called a scrub and was told to not play the game. Then when I win against those people with the same deck I was playing they would call me a cheat. I went to a regionals for the first time with an older deck and we went to time on my first turn because the guy kept saying that I was cheating with vendreads. I also was refused a trade even though I had extra ash blossoms when they first came out because I didnt use the brand of binder he liked. It's those reasons why I do.t even collect anymore. My only interaction kn the world of yugioh is through this channel because you are the best yugioh channel out there in my.opinion and one of the best overall youtube channels. Thank you for making this PSA and thank you for the second coming of yugioh jesus. Amen

I know this may be the dumb thing to highlight, but a guy refused original ash blossoms because he did not like your binder...If the condition of the card had something to do with it I totally can understand but the binder it was in? Either that guy is dumb or thats made up but I have never heard that in any card game ever. Sorry about your experience though.

As paradoxical as this sounds I have a competitive mind set but usually play rogue. I build and pilot the deck to be as optimal as possible and do a lot of research into the meta game when I'm in it so I know my opponents and my own deck better than they do usually sticking to the same deck for ages and updating it through continuous trial and error until it's near perfect and theirs an entire chapter of reasoning I could give on each card and why it's right. After doing this I consistently do well against the best meta players in the game my rival was at one point Alessandro Di Patria and I destroyed the meta players who weren't at that level. I've had several ycs winners stalk me online because they appreciate the craft and are truly impressed even got called into a duel by Marcello Barberi which ended 7-7 but I still get called out by punks who think my decks can't do shit when I play rogue they think no matter what meta will be better and often even when you destroy them you find they won't change their mind. Anyway I probably sound like a conceited d bag myself just thought I'd say no matter what you do theirs gonna be jerk offs who think rogue isn't capable but they're idiots.

This type of stuff kept happening to me at a locals. It got to to the point where I quit for 7 years, but I got back into the game because of YuGiTubers and their on going support of duelist. Needless to say instead of going back to the old shop I went to, I started going to another down the street. Great people and poistive players. I think the biggest point of this video should have been the outcome of what someone can do ince they've been bullied too much. Not only do people quit the game because of it but we as other players miss out on facing this player that could become our friend or be a future opponent. Either way Thank YugiNoNo for this video and continue doing great things for the Yugioh Community.

I feel Eugene's pain actually. I remember 2016 being the year where I got bullied a lot just for having a different opinion about something about a deck. It's videos like these I'm glad are made to point and address the issues of the community. I understand we all wanna win and how important competitive play is in the game, but when we let the competitive play cloud our judgments, we end up becoming terrible human beings and on top of that, the more we drive people away from the game over something so piety, the more harm we're doing to the game in general. Yes we have a lot of people in this community, but the more we keep pushing at each other over something so minor, the more likely we are of having NO community in this game at all, and that is something I feel a lot of people have forgotten about in general.

This is so fucking relatable, I remember when I started with yugioh and everyone laughed and bullied me cause I had no idea... So I decided to buy a soul fusion display, I did it and build an ultimate Thunder dragon Deck and studied strategies. I've shown them my deck and completely destroyed them as they were nothing

The fact I know mugs are like this makes it worse lmao. I'll never forget the one time I tried to get my older bud into the game and he went to his locals a few time to pick up more cards and interact with other player, and just eventually dropped the game 3 months in cause of dickheads like this. Smh really keeps new people out of the game. Thanks for the Vid M8, good shit. Cheers

I'm new to the tcg (played duel links since i couldn't afford cards for the longest) and honestly, as someone who never fit in and always struggles with social interaction, I'm kinda intimidated since i know that what i have isnt good and i don't even know whats proper convention. I mean, i have an idea. I have sleeves, i dont have a mat though, and the one from the structure deck isnt one ima bring in. In general, i just dont wanna be an inconvenience. I dont have many people at all really that i can play yugioh with, and while i wanna give it a try, im nervous to. I was gonna go to a locals tournament but then the whole outbreak started, so yeah.. Also im new to this channel but i think i may have seen other videos of yours and i think i heard Farfa mention you. Im subbed now, cant wait to go on to watch your other content. May even join the discord too if i get past my nervousness

Yugioh is a game and simply that. I don't know why bullying in a simple game should be a thing. I'm glad you made a video like this as it's something that everyone should be aware about. In fact, bullying in anything just shouldn't be acceptable. In a way, I think that instead of downgradung those who we call "noobs" of the game, we should instead be taking the time to help them improve at the game so that they could have a fun time, so you could have a fun time, and so everyone could have a fun time, because, at the the end of the game, Yugioh is a game that's meant to bring people together.
