How much of a difference do the 9's make? I've acquired 590 oz. of silver within the past year. I was somewhat hasty with my decision making. Most of it is 10 oz. bars, it's all .999 silver. Out of curiosity, how much of a difference is there between .999, .9999 and .99999?

I’ve been stacking only 1oz rounds for a while now. I used to only stack ASE’s but the premiums are too high. I figured I’ll get more silver if I go with rounds per my budget. My goal is to have 1000oz in rounds and ASE’s. Once I achieve that in a few years I’ll think about stacking 10oz bars.

I have been buying valcambi kilo bars lately(best appearance) , but I love the look of the Asahi 10 oz minted bars... They are beautiful.. Recently bought some of those even though they cost $1 per ounce above what the kilo bar cost. Just wanted some of the 10oz Asahi. Will probably revert to the italian or metalor kilo bars in the future. Bullion Exchanges in NY seems to have the best prices. I use off site storage.

“Are Kilo bars liquid when demand for silver is high?” If you happen to believe the U.S. dollar is going to inflate into nothing, then converting your fiat currency to honest money is the goal. With this in mind, I like Kilo bars. So I stack for weight. I like the 10oz for the reasons mentioned above. Slightly more liquid than the Kilo. I also like Constitutional coins, ASE and generic rounds... all for different reasons.

Kilo bars are the king of silver, coins are cool and all but the kilo bars are the real deal when you are storing you pm:s somewhere else than in your home in a shoe box. Kilo bars are the only right way to go about it. Yes they are not as handy as the coins if the barter party is coming. But them not being as liquid is a pile of shit. 1 ounce gold bars are less liquid than 1 Kilo bars of silver...

Not afraid of stacking any denomination of silver. 100oz is close to 1oz of gold in value. Most don't know that the 100oz will go back to the wholesalers. Premium and spread are the most important. To sell your 100oz you just have to get more quotes from different shops. If you are going to hold get 100oz. Get smaller sizes if you are going to sell. DCA is better smaller sizes, but premiums are higher also. Everything depends on your time horizon.

I use to have ever size of bar Sunshine made. They don’t “stack” that well together. Sold them all for that reason. Now only RCM 10 oz bars. My advice is pick a bar and a size you like and stick with it. Can’t have a bunch of dead air space in your treasure chest😁

Little fact: UPVC is just PVC without the extra ingredients used to plastisise and make it flexible. I have had the first hand pleasure of extruding UPVC window frames in huge quantities, fun for about a week... Loving the channel btw, great work! 👍

I really like the compact design of the 5oz bars. They were in high demand the last time silver went crazy (2012-13) It's hard to pick one. 100oz bars are nice but difficult to stack the same brand and some are really odd sized. The JM "loaf" style is my preferred style there otherwise I'll pass and buy whatever. Kilos are hard to find and again, odd sized from one maker to another. At least with rounds and bars (1-5oz) you can buy whatever brand and they will likely be the same dimensions

10 oz bars all day. Some rounds, but I try to stick with 10 oz when I can. Can’t pass up deals when rounds are heavily discounted.

10oz have lower premiums. And sell for lower also. I.e. Silver Maples premiums are higher and have a higher selling value. So both are basically the same. You save in the beginning. And get less when selling. Or you pay higher premiums. And sell for higher. Basically ends up the same in the end.

@@thealize808 I can agree what that if the market continues the way it is, but if it comes down to simply having silver or not, I don’t think it’ll matter if it’s a minted coin, 10 oz bar, or a 1,000 oz bar; it’ll all just be melt value at that point. Let’s hope the world doesn’t get that way, but if you have to use silver to barter for a chicken, I don’t think anyone will care about the premiums that you spent for that 1 oz coin, round or bar.

I like 10 oz bars myself. Speaking of serialized bars, the Scottsdale Mint stacker bars are serialized no matter what size you buy them in - 10 oz, kilo or 100 oz bars and they're currently produced. I know a guy who has some. HIGHLY recommended!

Yeah, kind of a rip off now imo. Part of the reason I liked constitutional way back was it was cheaper and less chance of fakes. Now neither of those apply.

Kilos and 10s dominate my 2000 ozs….bang for the buck and simple storage. They are plenty liquid….people who worry about liquidity of bars live in a small world. We ain’t bartering rice, beans, and Skittles anytime soon, LOL.

in netherlands you pay more tax on bars (21%) then on coins exept when you have a buisness and get tax back , and as long as 32x 1oz is cheaper then a kilo coin, it smartest to buy 1 oz at this moment 11:00 dutch time 1oz kangeroo 24.60 euro, and spot gold 1760 euro or 1833 $ & silver 20:78 euro or 21:64 $

Yankee, is the formula for figuring the silver value of 90% silver still = coin face value x .715 x spot price of silver? Am trying to show children how to calculate what their 90% coins are worth if they ever need to 'barter'. Thanks in advance for your help.

Simple formula: the s*** has hit the fan, something is happening and it's barter time. There is a guy in the neighborhood who's got canned food, he will sell canned food for one silver dime per can and he might sell you 10 if you're lucky but the purchase may be limited to less than 10. You have been stacking 1 kilo bars, what are you going to do? Why would anyone buy silver bars? The smaller coin denominations are far more divisible and 10 one tenth of an ounce silver coins are far more attractive than 1-1oz silver coin or bar because they are more divisible. I don't purchase numismatic coins but I have never heard of numismatic bars and if they exist they are rare and that's another aspect to the equation. If I was going to store $1,000 worth of precious metals I might as well get $1,000 1/2 oz of gold rather than $1,000 bar of silver. In the context I mentioned it doesn't seem to make any sense to buy larger silver bars or even large silver rounds, am I missing something?

Constitutional priced at 25 dollars for face value ! you are paying almost $25x 1.5( due to the weight and purity ) = $37.5 dollars ..so … pay this money and get pure silver eagle with the same money

if the price per oz. is close I would always choose smaller. 100 oz. bars are much harder to sell privately.
