Lovely cattle, Graham well finished 15 month old bull's some weight lad. Great video. What way does the collar work on the breeding bull, i.e., do you know when he jumps on a cow.
@Grahamkavanaghfarming4 ай бұрын
The collar works by proximity so when they are close by it registers it

Great stock. Do you find they go a bit stale when in shed after a long period of time.

Haven’t seen it as much since we have the diet feeder. Seen it more when they were on ad-lib meal they would have been getting 12kg + the push diet we feeding now has 9kg of meal which has a good mix of rolled grains

Great stock, what age were the bulls? and what age will the heifers be when you send them?
@Grahamkavanaghfarming4 ай бұрын
The bulls were 15 1/2 mths back to 14 1/2 mths and the oldest of the heifers will be approx 18 1/2 mths when they are fit

@Grahamkavanaghfarming4 ай бұрын
They are not purebred but I’ve seen worse bull running with cows. The peat is a good job but the greens are trying to put a stop to it

Great cattle to factory there again ...is there much price difference between 3- and 3= ?
@Grahamkavanaghfarming4 ай бұрын
There is no price difference between them as they are in spec at that once you go over 4= or under 2+ that’s when cuts come in at 6 cent per grade. There was a 6 cent difference between u= and u+
@tomgreene18434 ай бұрын
@@Grahamkavanaghfarming Thanks for that very interesting . It would be interesting to put 2 or three cattle to view prior to factory and ask reader to judge for themselves...no prize for winner !

What is an ideal fat cover for best price. Those 4 bulls were top quality so I dont see they would be different prices per kilo as none were overfat. If any were overfat how much per kilo would the penalty be.
@Grahamkavanaghfarming4 ай бұрын
In spec fat cover is 2+ to 4=, for each grade above or below these is 6 cent deduction ther was a 6 cent difference between u+ to u=

No doubt you demanded 'A written Contract' (As per Beef TaskforceTalks Agreement '19) from your factory agent before parting with your prised stock. T & C's Apply 👍
