The secret of Bulls in my opinion is that they had very different playstyles in their team. Apart from MJ and SP, who was very strong and very versatile, they had Dennis, all-out fighter, Kerr with his dead aim, Tony with crazy amount of flair, and so and so on. Each of these individuals complemented each other, when put together forming the best NBA team of all time.

This is a great video to educate young fans. 1. I don't see any plumbers. These dudes all look athletic. 2. This is what the game looked like when it was more balanced and not a 3pt contest. 3. Look at the intense effort on both sides. Playing hard on defense, diving for loose balls, etc. 4. Nobody is flopping. 5. Nobody is doing 5 step euro steps, double step backs, shuffling the feet, etc. David Robinson at 10:37 getting called for a ticky tack travel. That would NEVER be called today. Kids think their players are more athletic. It's easy to look athletic when you can just fly around without dribbling. 🤷‍♂️ 6. David Robinson was a problem, and this was when he was declining. 7. This is 1 year before the Spurs won their 1st championship. This team went on to beat LeBron in the Finals, twice.

The Boston Celtics tonight, the best team in the league, was outscored by fucking DEAN WADE 20-17 in the fourth quarter to lose to the Cavs minus Donovan Mitchell. Is that skill? Another point is that Chicago played the game with simplicity… nothing fancy and just simple fundamental basketball Jordan and Pippen gets all the attention and when they post up defenders the the defense has to send another defender and that leaves the 3 point assassins wide open, Kerr, Kukoc, John Paxton , BJ Armstrong The defense has to adjust and can’t leave those 3 point assassins wide open, so that means Jordan and Pippen can go one on one and defenses have no chance… It’s beautiful great full artistry

Theres many many reasons why the Bulls where so good but one that comes to mind is that when you watch them play they don’t take bad shots, every shot is a high percentage shot, they don’t come down jacking up 50 three pointers, The further you are from the basket “ 3 pointers “ the less the percentage, mid range and dunks and layups are higher percentage because there closer to the basket… They always took high percentage shots… They never beat themselves

This game has more soul than many of today's playoffs games. Now you have the so called best player cares only about filling up his stat line and prolonging his career so that he has more records to show for. Having talent and basketball intelligence is one thing but asserting yourself in the 82 game grind is the respect you should have. Jordan used to lamented about the long regular season but he fought hard against every team.

Dave is still the head of the snake in 1997-98, so to speak. It was in 1999 Dave began to give way to Tim subtly. One reporter (from NBC?) asked him about it, which he replied: "For as long as the team is winning, I'm happy." Few months later, he and the team clinched Larry (to heck with asterisk).

That makes people "casuals (fans)" just because their opinion is the Spurs would have beaten the Bulls who would have been a year older with even more basketball mileage and a Tim Duncan who was considerably better by his 2nd season? You sound like the casual. It's not inconceivable that the Spurs could've beaten Chicago, especially when you consider the fact that the Spurs was better (and bigger) than ANY of the Bulls' finals opponents.

@@verlongrimes0971 😱🤔 So NYK gave SAS 5 games with Sprewell & Alan Houston. U seriously think that CHI wouldn't have beaten SAS in 6 games 🤔. They had no answer for Fundamental, agreed but Admiral was on the decline. They had absolutely no answer for 1. MJ 2. Waiter 3. Scottie (to a lesser degree) but I believe Scottie's back would've been better if the HOU stint is any indication So I see CHI 4-2 vs SAS

@@shaunphillips3236 You say 5 games like the Knicks took the Spurs to 7 games lol. The Spurs almost swept that Knicks team. I think Spurs/Bulls would've been a great series. You mentioned David Robinson being on the decline but he was still putting up a double-doubles in the regular season and playoffs. He averaged 17ppg 12rpg vs the Knicks in the finals. Dennis Rodman wasn't on the decline, HE WAS DONE after '98. He was a shell of himself vs the Jazz and who knows would he have even been there the next season. He was the Bulls only inside presence on the boards and on defense and no way at 37 yrs of age he would've been able to defend Duncan or even Robinson. Also, that would've been the Bulls *4th* straight finals appearances so you can't just assume, as many people do, that that Bulls team that was OLDER and had a lot of basketball mileage wouldn't have been fatigued the next season. Look at the history of all the teams that went to 4 straight finals; they all broke down by that 4th finals appearance (Celtics '84-'87, Lakers '85-'89, Pistons '88-'91, Lakers '00-'04, Heat '11-'14, Warriors '15-'19).

@@verlongrimes0971 I'm not saying that NYK was a 7 game series. What I'm saying is that IF 1. 1998 2 game series 2. Admiral being on decline 3. Scottie in '99 4. Worm in '99 (who still got 11.2 REB per game btw) 5. MJ being MJ 6. Waiter (who was giving 18 & 7) 7. 50 games 8. That gives a veteran team like CHI time to heal, rest & have a quick paced Finals was any indication of that was the team returning, then yeah they would've beaten San Antonio but I do think it would've been a great series. I seen the listed teams u gave but none of those teams had the great equalizer called Michael Jordan & the Spurs had nothing & no one to slow him down. Now I'm sure u know this as well as I do that MJ turns into BEAST MODE when it's Finals time

@@shaunphillips3236 Not sure what your no.1 point is but Robinson wasn't on the decline more so than Rodman OR Pippen. Robinson was still a good player that would've presented matchup problems for that Bulls team. Look at Scottie Pippen's stats in '99 vs D Rob's stats in the playoff/finals. Also, you brought up that Rodman averaged 11 rpg in '99 but what you didn't bring up is that he only played *11* games that season. Why? Because he was done as a player. You would think the shortened season would've probably been more of a benefit to the Bulls but that's not going to help with Pippen's and Rodman's lack of production at that point. Neither to me was an elite player by then for different reasons. Also, as great as Jordan was, he never dominated the Spurs in any of their regular season matchups. In one game vs the Spurs he shot a miserable (*12-*39). Moreover, Jordan was not going to win a thing by himself which is why he never won until a team was put around him. The Bulls never faced a team who had two bigs that were as good as Duncan and Robinson.
